This restaurant has always been a family staple. We are italian and it does not get more authentic then this place. Definitely on the pricey side but worth the money if you are treating yourself. from the appetizers to the main dishes everything is elite. the preparation and taste is unmatched and recommend to any italian lovers.
The appetizers pictured were the best part of our meal, the rest was mid. Somehow we booked an early reservation and had the place to ourselves. It's very small inside, and you will likely be right next to another table. Valet guys are super busy, it would be so nice if they could have your car ready to go. Parking: Valet is offered for $15 cash/$20 credit. Parking is crazy, so I'd recommend valet or Uber.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in all of LA. The area couldn’t be more beautiful as well; just a quarter mile from the Pacific Ocean and the PCH. It’s small on the inside, but in a quaint, intimate kind of way. Our server was polite, but forgot about our drink refills. The food and drinks came out very fast however, which is always a bonus. We were able to find street parking a block away for a 6:30PM Saturday dinner, but they also offer valet as well. There are so many amazing dishes on the menu, so choosing is the hardest part, but any that you do choose will be amazing. The Carpaccio di Manzo is the best in LA and honestly in the top 5 best that I have ever had. I am half Italian and have been ordering and eating this dish since I was in elementary school so I have a lot of experience. The truffle sauce really makes it special and the meat is very tender and perfectly sliced. For our entree we chose the Agnolotti and the Pappardelle and both were amazing. The portion sizes are a bit small, but the flavors are truly worth the visit and make it a memorable experience. I highly recommend to any fan of Italian food, quality dinners, or anyone visiting LA and wants to experience the best of this town. Being that this is one of my favorite restaurants in all of LA I will definitely be back soon and often.
There was not 1 good thing about our experience at Giorgio Baldi. Sat down and waited over 20 minutes for a waiter to take drink orders. He dropped off 5 menus for 6 people. Waited another 30 minutes to get our drinks and then another 29 minutes to request a waiter so we could order dinner. Food was lackluster. Salads were so boring and average you could do better at home. Squash blossom special. Sue out cold and mushy. I could go on. For a very expensive restaurant the food would not qualify for 1 star. Meal ended and everyone at table were so disappointed. Sat outside and heater stopped working. One member at our table requested 4 different times to get the heat working. Took 4 requests. Run, don’t walk away from this overly priced, bad Italian food. There are so many better restaurants.
Party opted for several pastas/appetizers and I have to say I was thrilled they had a mentai based pasta offering. Easily the highlight of my meal and I'd return for takeout for just that dish alone. Not overly fishy, but also had very distinct Italian flavors. Truffle supplement was encouraged but definitely not needed on every dish. Although we added it to several entrees, I could have lived without it. Our party did send a few dishes back including the clams which the kitchen failed to reduce all the way through still tasted the wine. Chef agreed as well and offered to remake the dish! 3.5 but rounding up to 4 because the hilarious and accommodating staff
So average. Service was pretty good but the quality of the food certainly doesn't warrant the prices. Feels like GB's is just living off celebrity spotting rather than delivering the much anticipated "authentic Italian" cooking. Disappointing.
Very overrated. Counted 14 pieces of penny sized ravioli for 35$ accompanied by some very dry bits of bread. Service was inattentive and rushed. Best part was when we were sent waiting for our table next door at the bar. They served some amazing espresso martinis. There are so many better and cheaper alternatives and non make you sit outside in a plastic tent. But you probably won’t see Bennifer
When you are ready for the finest home made Italian cuisine with impeccable service and quality at every turn, then this is your destination. By far the best around. Every bite or drink is spectacular from start to finish you will be overjoyed that you discovered Giorgio Baldi. Make your reservations early.
Excellent service and ambience. The food, however, was only average when compared to restaurants with dishes at similar price points. With that in mind, the menu online shows prices that are lower than what you will see at the restaurant. The highlight of the meal was the carciofin. Delightful flavors that worked well together. The bread provided before the meal was served with olive oil only. Similar restaurants would also provide parmesan cheese or salt at the very least. On the menu, the panzerotti is served with either "porcini mushroom or tomato sauce," but the porcini sauce is tomato-based, which was somewhat unexpected. The frittura di mare was a fried platter, and it was decent, although the calamari was a bit overcooked. I have had similar orders placed at hole-in-the-wall seafood shacks for under half the price. What you get from this restaurant is a good place if you want to dine in a loud, social atmosphere, and it could potentially be a destination for a romantic dinner with a long-term relationship partner you may have to speak loudly; i.e., not good for a first date. The recommendation is based almost entirely on having a candlelit experience. Go somewhere else for a meal if you intend to spend $80-100 or more per person.
Best restaurant, amazing food. The Dover Sole is my favorite… Marco the manager is a charm every time you see him. Love the restaurant always go for my birthday.
