Checked out this spot today around 5pm after enjoying a family day at the Santa Monica Pier. Parking was a close one since it’s meter parking but we got lucky and parked across the street. It was pretty empty when we arrived, it seemed like the dinner crowed walked in after us so our pizzas did not take very long. We got 1 large pepperoni which i thought was too greasy and a large cheese and meatball sandwich which was good. The sodas are refillable. My beer on tap was a little flat. The benches seem comfortable for the most part but I hardly fit at the end and my mom could not fit at all and we brought over a chair. The staff was great. Very chill spot for a family pizza night.
Had the white pesto pizza - OMG so good!!! I’d give the pizza five stars. We also had the Mediterranean Salad which was very good too… fresh and tasty and the large fed our group of 5 very satisfactorily. However - the wait on Friday night around 7:00 p.m. for my pizza was close to 55 minutes… the kitchen staff was really hustling so can’t really complain - it was just really busy. By 8:15 the crowds were gone and I’m sure the wait would have been much shorter. Oh - And don’t confuse this place with the old standard Vito’s Italian on Ocean Park in Santa Monica… this place is much more fun and the interior is really cool… all kinds of vinyl playing on the turn table!!! I’m knocking a star off because they limit refills on iced tea… really… is that necessary??? It’s one of those small Collins glasses anyway that you can down in one big sip… and it ain’t cheap either… is this the way you want your non-alcohol customers that are designated driving to go away thinking about this place? Humbug!!!!
I love this place. Great bruschetta with a balsamic glaze and goat cheese. Spinach Salad with honey mustard dressing is tasty. Of course, every pizza under the sun. Both indoor patio dining. Friendly atmosphere and hands on owner.
Foldable Well done bottom & crust Saucy Meatballs Self-serve packing station Nobody: Me: From my unimpressionable nyc opinion, this will do for west LA. Took 2 stars away because the times I ordered salads they were incredibly overpriced for something so basic. And the sandwich breads are mediocre at best for any sub offering they have.
The place has an awkward layout. I love Vito’s pizza on La Cienega better with more pizza options and other pastas. Pizza is still good, but looks like they focus more on wine and spirits when they can do better and bring the variety of options in food and drinks.
Wanted to try a new place for pizza. Pizza was good but ordered an Italian sub and it was just a hunk of rolled meat and frozen cheese with lettuce thrown on top. I asked prior to ordering if I could have it heated up. Anyways disaster. Drinks forgotten breadsticks never came out. Staff was unapologetic about the mix up. Every single table was having issues with their orders. I won’t be going back. Parking: Street parking only
Actually really good. The pepperoni pizza SLAPS! My grandma and I initially chose this pizza place because the atmosphere looked a lot better than every other pizza place, but left with a smile because of the food and service.
Definitely like this spot - sort of an old school New York pizzeria. Great pies and salads, fun spot to dine in with the family - and very helpful staff. Will be back. Only downside - area parking can be a pain.Recommended dishesChopped Salad, Cheese Pizza Slice
Pizza is good, but I’ve ordered from here at least 5 times and they’re always running behind. I’ve waited anywhere from 45mins - 1hr after my quoted pickup time. Last time I went in they had 3 customers and told them it was going to be at least a 30 minute wait for a slice.
My second time having Vito's pissa. I really love this pizza. I am fussy as I know what I make my own when I have time.. I had both times the pesto and ricotta. My friend loved it too and ordered a second slice. Their tables are spread out, which I prefer. You have to order and pay on your phone, don't love that. I still prefer to order from a human, as I like to ask questions, i.e., like my pizza hot, crust well. I have recommended Vito's to many of my pizza loving friends.
