United States Navy,19th Century Steel Warship at Penn's Landing, Philadelphia.

Admiral Dewey's Flagship and the Oldest Steel Warship afloat!

Story

The Cruiser Olympia is the Oldest Steel Warship Afloat, built in 1892, commissioned in 1895, and served until 1922. She is the only example left of American 20th Century steel warship design and is both a National Historic Landmark and National Historic Engineering Landmark. OLYMPIA is also currently one of the most intact historic vessels, with around 80% of her original fabric still intact as it was before 1922.

Our mission is to bring attention and funding to repairing and fully restoring this grand lady back to her formal glory. Currently, we are looking for donations to help us get into our first drydock since 1945.

A bustling seaport that serves as a museum and entertainment/dining destination for all in the city. The area is peppered with very interesting educational and historical signage. The waterfront is clean and admission passes to the museum will also get you access to some of the maritime vessels anchored along the waterfront.

My students and I saw a production of Romeo and Juliet at the theater. It was clean and welcoming. The staff was friendly and accomodating. Thank you for treating us so well. We look forward to visiting again.

Such an amazing and interactive museum. I expected to spend an hour there and we ended up spending most of the day. My 6 year old loved it and surprisingly I did too. Good balance of exhibits for both kids and adults.

I went here to see a play. Walking to the theater was nice with the various pieces of art. It was spacious and the bathrooms were clean. I wouldn't definitely go there again to see the museum itself.

Marvelous look at seafarers and their place in history. Interesting exhibits and events. In the heart of Old City.
