This is one of the best State parks we have ever visited. The grounds and campsites are meticulously maintained. The park is beautiful under a canopy of tall pine trees with spacious and we'll maintained campsites. The staff is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Bob, the campground host made every guest feel special. Lots to do there, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, birding, and boating. They also have a very nice little nature center there for children. Another place on our list to revisit.

Absolutely love this camp ground. Cleanest park bathrooms I have ever seen. Super friendly Ranger staff that have activities for the kids. So many activities to do here. We loved kayaking to an island with our dog to go swimming. Only downside was the bugs. A screen tent is a must.

Janes Island was the most peaceful campground we have ever stayed in. The crabbing is just steps away (and super productive), the marshlands are perfect for canoeing/kayaking, and the sunsets are just perfect. The only fear I have writing this review is drawing too much attention to this place, as the quiet is what makes it most special!!! Thank you staff at James Island-- you all were very hospitable and maintain a special place.

Excellent experience. Beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay. Water trails are highly accessible and allow for exploration of the white sandy beaches. Picturesque scenery from the bay side beaches. Great camping accommodations.
