St. Mary's River State Park is a Maryland state park located in California, Maryland. The park consists of two sites: one encompasses the 250acre St. Mary's Lake; the second covers and is largely undeveloped. The park features picnicking, a boat launch, boating (electric motor only), flat water canoeing, fishing, and hunting. A 7.5mi trail around St. Mary's Lake is used for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking.

A beautiful little resivoir with a fun 7.5 mile hike or bike ride that is primarily a shaded that loops around the perimeter. The trail is easy to moderate to with a few technical difficulties water crossings and exposed roots. Only small electric fishing boats are allowed on the lake which means that it is quiet and peaceful. I swimming is not allowed for some reason I which is is unfortunate, after a hot ride a dip in the water would be great.

Great place for fishing, canoeing, mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding. The path is challenging because of the tree roots, and can get slippery after a rain, but that's part of the challenge.

Great lake to fish. There are alot of subsurface stumps as well as above water. They hold the big Bass but are hard to fish because you can get your boat hung up on one. Once you have fished it a few times you learn the Lake.

Great place to go on a family or Scout hike. The trail is well marked. Just need to keep your eyes open for mountain bikers. There are places where they tend to take the trail a bit fast.
