Tania is THE BEST bartender. They were very attentive/friendly and drinks were superb. The food was hot and delicious. We ordered their million dollar deviled eggs, super yummy. Pork belly candy was juicy, flavorful and just the right amount of sweetness. French onion soup had a good flavor and lots of cheese. Cornbread muffin was FRESH and so moist. Lavender fields cocktail did the trick, one and done for me lol. The old fashioned was nice with a citrus flavor.
Coming into the restaurant was great. Their tables are decorated with rosemary, which contrasts to the smells of SF streets, offering some odoriferous relief and contrast. I asked the server her preference between the salmon and the steak frites and she strongly suggested the salmon. I wasn't disappointed. The salmon was good -- the glaze was great, and I really enjoyed the risotto. I'm not usually one that enjoys mushrooms, but these were actually pleasant. The asparagus were tender, but not overcooked. I would have preferred a more crispy asparagus, but their taste was on point. I indulged in the dessert — the bread pudding — which was great, partly because the garnish of fresh berries and whipped cream cut the sweetness of the caramel. It was a great dinner before attending the theater Curran nearby. Vegetarian options: Included on the menu are vegetarian options — straight veggies — or burgers using plant based protein.
They have a very good cook! No fancy dishes, but all are very tasty. Selection of beer is also nice. However they work in a very inefficient way. No one takes care of the entrance, no one takes care of taking orders. They seem busy but no idea what they are busy with. Sometimes all waiters disappear and you can find no one except customers in the restaurant……
The menu and food here are high quality. Chef Raymond is wonderful. The ribs were falling off the bone. The salmon steak was perfectly seasoned, nice and meaty. The asparagus was perfectly blanched with a yummy butter coating. The candied pork belly was perfectly cooked with a tangy, lightly spiced glaze. I also had a very unique mashed avocado mezcal cocktale that went perfectly with everything, smokey, not too sweet. Topped it of with a perfectly crusted creme brulee. Top notch service from server Dinovo, despite staffing shortage. Both Dinovo and Chef Raymend doubled as bartender and still managed to provide great service and an excellent meal. Don't let the casual sports bar atmosphere fool you the main dining room is closed due to covid. The food is worthy of a white table cloth establishment. I will definitly return.
The food was amazing. Had the American breakfast with impossible sausage. The staff are so nice. We didn't have to wait outside for a table. Definitely will come back next trip to San Francisco! Vegetarian options: sweet potato hash on the menu
Went for breakfast. Waited for some time to be seated and then forgotten. Had to go and request someone to take care of my order. The waiters seemed stretched thin. Ordered short ribs and avocado toast. The food was really good.
Had to have the J Burger, endorsed by Anthony Bourdain! It was a good burger Personally, I would have liked a bit of mayo or burg sauce. But there was no denying the quality of ingredients they use
Coming here for “brunch” on Sundays for a couple weeks, this place is now one of my favorites and a must-go. The restaurant is super clean and even feels a little bit high-end. I often sit at the bar watching Football games, including Super Bowl. There is a decent selection of beers, and you can order a beer flight. Great place to casually sit down if you’re in town or touring the neighborhood on foot. The food is absolutely amazing…higher priced but totally worth the dollars.
Unfortunately, the service wasn’t as good as it should be, given the location . Understaffed, perhaps? We were seated promptly, given water, menu, then no one in sight for 20 mins. It wasn’t even at half capacity. We finished our waters long before being seen by another waiter/waitress, no water refills offered. We placed our orders, then waited a little over 39 mins for our food to arrive . I received my French toast one piece of bread . $15! Not worth it.
Lots of really good food and beer options and great place to watch sports. Good portion sizes for the price too. The J burger was excellent!
