Amazing museum guides have a lot of information. But the video that they have is a little strange. It was definitely interesting! The gift Shoppe is very cool too, a lot of books to tell of the history of the place.

Beautiful getaway with tons of chances to see unspoiled nature. The twin canals trail is full of aquatic life and songbirds, although it can be hard to actually see the birds. If you want to bird watch, your best bet is going to be the Bayou Coquite. You can even see gators up close at times, which might sound scary, but isn't.

This was a wonderful park with two different trails you can take. We went for the 10 am walking tour with a guide and although we didn’t get to see any alligators we saw a giant spider and lots of squirrels. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us the history of the swamp and the different foliage.

Adventure out of the city and explore the Louisiana Bayou! It's free too. There are lots of trails you can walk, but if you just want a quick exploration, go to the visitor center and walk the boardwalk there into the bayou. You'll need about 20 minutes to walk the whole thing. Watch out... you may spot an alligator!

So close to the city and a great opportunity to see some beautiful swamp land. The visitor's center is really nice with knowledgeable staff.
