My husband and I are both 72 year old and have moved several times in the past twenty years, with mixed experience. Neither of us has ever written a review before.  We were inspired to write this one because of the totally positive experience we had with Joey's Movers.

Before choosing Joey's we interviewed and obtained estimates from three other moving companies.  Our decision to go with Joey's was based on two things: 1) the estimator, Joseph, who is in the owners' family, and 2) the thorough and professional way the company presents itself.  Price was not the determining factor, but it didn't hurt that Joey's bid was also the most competitive.

 I was extremely nervous about this particular move and Joseph really listened to my concerns.  He gave me confidence that I could trust his company with our possessions.  He pointed out some simple steps I could take to minimize my effort in preparing for the move and he even suggested some ways to save money! 

Water damage to our downtown condo forced the move and meant that we worked with two teams of young men - one to move out and one to move in.  All four of the men involved were extremely efficient, professional, careful, and unerringly polite.  David and Juan, who worked the "move-in" on the last day, were a terrific team taking the time to position rugs and furniture in just the right place.  David had also worked the "move-out", so he knew where things went and how to reassemble a heavy, antique breakfront that my husband and I were particularly concerned about.  

This moving company is a first class operation and we highly recommend them.

Terrible. They are so so slow & dishonest. The owner Joseph is a dispicable excuse for a human being as he’s mean and hateful. He insulted my family and has no social filter. He argues & lies to try to charge extra fees not originally discussed or included. His quotes are lowballed just to get business. They broke several of my high value items and electronics are missing. He acts desperate just to get business. Check out the other negative reviews as they all have a pattern of disgust for Joseph and his unprofessionalism. He has no regard for your personal items and how they are handled. This is not a serious business. Check out yelp and DO NOT USE! Not recommended!!!! The worst most unprofessional company I have ever come across.

Joseph Brooks and his teams were awesome in making our moving day a seamless experience! We would use them again without a second thought. They were professional, on time, true to their estimates and flowed with every snag we hit! Love them!!!

Excellent!  I needed an extremely large piece of glass/dining room table moved with a very awkward sculptural base this morning, and they did it with no incident!  Great price and will use again for future things! Thanks!!

For Christmas my in-laws gave my children a piano, and they gave me the gift of paying for the piano movers to deliver the piano. They chose Joey’s Movers, and it is a decision that I would not recommend to anybody. The day Joey’s movers came to move the piano, they dropped it causing one of the movers to break his leg, some of the wood on the piano to break off, and an undetermined amount of damage to the patio the piano fell on. My in-laws and the rest of the movers were understandably more concerned with the man who broke his leg than the piano, so they tended to him and left the piano without moving it for the day. After that day my father-in-law tried to contact Joey’s movers multiple times, and every time he failed at getting Joey’s to send people out to finish the move or to discuss how to get reimbursed for the damage they caused. After months of this he gave up and paid a different moving company to move the piano. When the piano got to my house I learned that Joey's movers had caused $7,000 damage to the piano. So I began calling Joey’s movers, I never got a response from them. Then I complained to the Better Business Bureau; Joey’s movers responded to the BBB saying it was my in-laws fault that they dropped to the piano. At one point, Joey’s movers claimed that they were owed money for them coming out there, even though all they did was drop an antique piano and left it outside in a garage for the winter! I ended up having to hire a lawyer to deal with the situation. After he got involved I got money from Joey’s, but it ended up being a wash and I couldn’t afford to get the piano fixed. Combined with the amount of hours I spent dealing with all of this, the situation was a total loss. I would not recommend Joey’s movers to anyone.
