Great quiet wide open campground in winter. Would have given it four stars if I had been warned that the water had been shut off in the entire park, except the restrooms. Falls Lake (another state park near here) where we stayed before this had water. I am sure this campground is pretty packed during peak seasons. But a really nice place to be, lot's of trees and the lake was very close by.

Love camping there. The site I had has plenty of room for a big tent and a small one. The lake is great to swim in. They offer the free use of life jackets. The playground is small but great for kids if it isn't crowded.

Parker's Creek has several nice campground loops. Most have lake access or lake views. Sometimes when camping here we do get the occasional weirdos or obnoxious boaters who insist on parking their boats right in front of the lake access near our tents but they rent out lots across the street or the back. I wish the rangers could keep tabs of these people better because I have seen them invite visitors with their own boats so the whole shoreline section is blocked. The beach is hit or miss. Parents sometimes do not watch their children and they can throw trash down or invaded your personal space while swimming. Picinic tables sometimes fill up on the weekends with huge groups of people that almost block pathways and bring their own grills so it can get strange sometimes.

One of our favorite places to camp when we are in the area. Enjoy kayaking on the lake

Been to most of the state park campgrounds in nc. The bathroom in our loop was closed, it was not on the site not were we informed at check in. Never saw ranger or camp host once after entering park. Everywhere else they come by to check on things. Firewood? No where in site.
