Story

Built in the 1940's, Karl's Cabin is vintage log cabin roadhouse restaurant, bar & banquet facility. We are a New American style restaurant specializing in comfort food. Our seasonal menu is the heartbeat of our restaurant. Our Chef's take great pride in using fresh locally sourced foods. Located minutes west of Downtown Plymouth and just east of Ann Arbor we have served families from Northville, Novi, Canton, South Lyon, Livonia and all of Metro Detroit for over 35 years.

Our first time dining here tonight: a straight A+. The dinner salads that accompany the entrees were the best we ever had. Super-fresh appealing greens and bright vegetables. The flaming saganaki cheese and pita appetizer was delicious. The entrees, the bison ravioli and then the shrimp and scallop angel hair pasta - were simply outstanding. The atmosphere of the place is warm, inviting, and very much a cozy dining experience. Waitstaff was excellent, accommodating, and prompt. Busing service was attentive and polite. A suggestion: salads, appetizers and entrees all arrived in much too-close a proximity with each other; it would I think be a good idea to wait an appropriate interval for each to be consumed, before the next one is served. For sure, though, we will be back, and often.

Update......I have contacted the restaurant and will share my experience once I return. ........... I really wanted this place to be something great as I was told it was. We went on mother's day. I ordered the chicken artichoke. It was lack luster and very disappointing. My wife had the stuffed white fish with the same result. The kids mac and cheese looked like it was straight out of the Kraft box and old from sitting in the window. Food took 45 minutes. Service was good and the bread excellent. We will not be returning

Really enjoyed our experience here. The food was delicious, and they have a lot of options. The staff was friendly, and very helpful in deciding what to get. Drink menu was also filled with great options. We were told to expect a 30 minute wait but it ended up only being around 10. We would definitely come back!

Absolutely fantastic experience all thanks to our server Gene (not sure I spelled his name right). Hands down the best service we’ve had in a long time. Very knowledgeable about your menu. Had great suggestions and genuine conversation. Most definitely went above and beyond expectations. We for sure be back and will make sure to request Gene :)

I booked from out of town because the location was what I needed for a 50 person gathering. We couldn't have found a better banquet facility! The restaurant is cozy with tons of parking. The banquet room was beautiful, clean & well set up. The food was very good...order extra coconut shrimp! And the service was very good.
