This place closes at 4:45pm sharp. Not 5pm like listed. Not happy driving 45 minutes away to get there at 4:50 and everyone but the front desk receptionist was gone. What government agency does that? Seriously? A furlough or ripping off taxpayers 15 minutes X 20 employees every day. Wonder what that adds up to be at the end of each year?

This is regarding the Environmental Health section of the Kent County Health Department .  A younger lady did a great job at helping me with the paperwork I needed and answering my questions professionally.  It was a good experience as one would think the Kent County Health Department is looking to provide.  Unfortunately, the older lady sitting next to her jumped in and started badgering us both.  We didn't get anything of value from this older lady.  If she has a lot of experience, the value is by far detracted by her grizzled attitude.  It is surprising that the KCHD wants this attitude to be the representation of their leadership and service.

This place can seriously go fly a kite. Keep your disgusting beauraucratic noses out of my family's business. Stop acting like you know how to be a better parent than real, actual parents.

Not sure why their schedule is 8 am am to 5 pm, but they start work at 10 am and closes at 4:45 pm.

Visited the Kent County Environmental Health Department today and it was pretty awful. The lady at the front desk was rude and acted like I was inconveniencing her for asking questions about a permit. A permit with zero literature about it anywhere. She stated they couldn't email me a copy of the approved permit because she didn't want people calling about it... that would be a nuisance. In addition, she told me it would cost another $100 should they have to come to our property for a "site visit."  If I'd known that I would have put dimensions on our application for the exact location of our well and septic to minimize the need for a site visit. Again, no guidelines and zero help. Just a rude worker unwilling to help.
