I needed blood drawn for labs.  I called McLaren Central Michigan Laboratory to make an appointment and was told I didn't need one.  I went to the lab on Friday, May 11, arriving at 11:30 in the morning.  the sign said they were open until 12:00 noon.  At 11:37 a technician came out and called for another patient waiting there.  I told him I was there for the lab and he said he wasn't taking any more patients.  I responded that I had called the day before and was not told that they would stop taking patients before noon.  He said I could go to the nearby hospital as their lab was open until 5:00, but he wasn't taking any more patients, then turned away and closed the door on me.  I should add that I drove over 30 minutes to get there.  In addition, I'm awaiting a hip replacement and walking is very painful to me.  I use a walker and can barely get around with that.  Oh, and I was standing with my walker as I discussed this with the technician  who told me to go elsewhere.  The staff at McLaren Central Michigan Laboratory failed provide me with the information I needed to use their facility. And if you're open until noon that means you're taking patients until noon.  And I probably would not tell a patient to go elsewhere if they are standing there WITH A WALKER.  Clearly, the staff at the mcLaren Central Michigan lab on Health Parkway in Mt. Pleasant is not concerned about their patients.  I will never go there again and I recommend you don't either.

Rachel, we already tried emailing you, with no response, so don't bother replying now. WORST place EVER! Do not go here, it was dirty and that's just for starters. I set up a physical for my boyfriend, he went to the appointment and they WOULDN'T take his copay because it WAS a physical. The doctor ignored the pink highlited notes I made on the intake form noting that irregularities in heart beat needed to be discussed. She never mentioned it, I filled out from and high lighted it so she would see it. Why do we fill them out if no one reads it. She takes interest in his life long bloody noses-- has multiple labs ran which under which his physical would have covered them but no she decided to bill it as a visit for bloody nose. So we start getting a bill for a 40.00 copay and 330 dollars in labs. They give us the run around for months about they are going to fix it and get it resubmitted with the right code and blah blah blah, the bill gets out on hold so they can sort it out and all of a sudden they've decided it wasn't a physical and they refuse to change it or fix their error. After months if the run around we got told to contact Joyce shaffer-- who we've dealt with before and she is like the official "f- off" from McLaren. Last time I dealt with her she quite calling me back and here we are of all the multiple people we've been told to contact no one's calling back. I have emailed the CEO of Mclarenx I have contacted the local paper and as a member of this community I am Fed up with Mclarens dirty offices and poorly managed staff. No one seems to know what's going on or how to help and so they just quit calling leaving us to pay for things that should have been covered.  Don't even get me started on when they administered myself, boyfriend and 3 kids the rabies vaccine incorrectly causing us to make an extra trip and multiple extra shots to the emergency room. Joyce was supposed to help adjust those bills too so we didn't have to pay for their error then but sure enough no help and the return calls stopped coming so 4 insurances got over billed and I have a 12,000 dollar bill now in collections because they didn't adjust my bill forntheir serious error,they stopped working with me and returning my calls after they said they would be adjusting the bill-- they didn't.  Worst part is we are not the only ones our community is full of people who have been screwed by Mclaren. I myself will be returning to all spectrum health care and for emergency visits it will be U of M hospital for us but ither members of my community don't have the ability to commute to a better health care option. Someone needs to do something to get M claren straightened out-- they have no right to treat our community so poorly and this isn't just my opinion-- go to glass house and read the employee reviews--  I am disgusted with this doctors office and M claren and I hope U of M hospital starts picking up the ability to treat all of McLaren screwed over patients if they do, they'll be expanding and dominating the central Michigan healthcare system in no time.  McLaren is the worst.
