I recently stayed at the Kimpton madera for a quick weekend to DC. It's conveniently located near the metro and bus routes. Check in was quick and the attendant, Ahmad, was friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and clean, with a comfy bed. The bathroom is kind of small, but serviceable. My only complaint was that the curtains were transparent so I couldn't sleep in the next morning. I also ate at the Firefly which was very tasty. I would stay here again if I come back to DC.

Stayed here for a long weekend to get out of NYC and it was just what my company and I needed. Great service from the employees from the valet to any other staff I interacted with. I must highlight one of the managers for her exceptional customer service, Tessa! If I'm ever in DC I'll probably stay here again or at one of their sister locations nearby. Because of the great stay in DC, I already booked my birthday suite with them in June at the Kimpton Muse in NYC.

Hotel was super decent. I had a suite and it came with a massaging chair which was dope. Flat screen was small and so was the bathroom. Biggest turn off. Bathroom was like a closet with a toilet and a shower. Other than that, experience was great.

Great location. Awesome accommodations. Super trendy and cool. Love the complimentary evening wine. Staff goes above and beyond! Highly recommend!

AMENDED REVIEW: After attempting another method of contact, Kimpton has resolved the issue. At this point I have adjusted my review to 3 stars due to the helpful fellow, Cortez. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was hoping to be able to stay at the Kimpton Madera. Upon finalizing the reservation and additional $52 was added to the reservation for a 2 night stay. This was not clearly disclosed prior to the reservation. After staying on hold for an hour trying to talk to someone, and after chatting with an online "helper", "Marisa", I was told there was nothing they could do. A 25% service fee on top of the room rate is ridiculous. This deceitful practice should be banned, and I am sorry to say I do not trust Kimpton at this point. Unfortunate since the hotel looks nice and we have stayed at other Kimptons and had positive experiences.
