Would be new patient, was told a time for an appointment, their automated system called and stated a different time for my new patient appointment. When the appointment was set up, my first call to this place no less than 15 minute hold to speak to someone, the second call same 12 to 15 minute hold was to confirm the appointment time. I asked a simple question is this the type of service that is to be expected from this place is long hold times and conflicting information and the person on the phone became very agitated and disconnected the call without verifying anything. My recommendation look elsewhere for treatment seems this place is way over booked and understaffed and they do not care about there patients. This was their Leonard town Maryland office location. Regardless to what the owners / staff may say avoid them.

Doctors here give conflicting information. Dr. Acure recommended a non narcotic med to be takin on an as needed basis. I am also prescribed a narcotic type med that I’ve been able to tolerate without severe digestive issues but this medication can cause severe health risks if stopped suddenly. My next few appointments the different doctors at KurePain totally contradicted Dr. Acure’s treatment plan concerning the non narcotic. This med was amazing! I had no adverse issues other than sneezing, was able to use very moderately, and it truely worked! My insurance health nurse suggested making my appointment with Dr. Acure so the info I was provided was consistent. I try to follow her recommendation. My last appointment I was told by Dr. Acure hisself that if I wanted regular med refills I’d just have to see the other doctors or go without. Next month I will run out of my regular medication for one week. (This is the med I shouldn’t stop taking without extreme risk to my health) There are no appointments available with Dr. Acure until then. I try to make advance appts regularly so this doesn’t happen but have been informed that ‘the schedule was not opened’ to accommodate this for several months now. The office is very busy and it’s hard to get a four week appt especially at a time I can leave work. Their scheduling has only had availability for five weeks at a time for the last several months. You can not make an eight week appointment. My insurance changed this year. I was sent out a simple form to be filled out by my doctor for preauthorizations. It was stated that it had to be completed by Dec.15 in order to prevent disruptions of important medications. I tried in Nov. and than again the beginning of Dec. KurePain receptionist informed me it was not their policy to fill out such forms. They would call in the preauthorization once the prescription was rejected. In the beginning of January Dr. Acure told me after my script was rejected I had to call the office and inform them of the rejection. At that point they would get the preauthorization. I followed his instruction and than called my new insurance explaining to them why the form they’d sent to me was not submitted as requested. My insurance told me they could get it approved within the day once the doctors contacted them. I called KurePain several times to check on this. Dr. Acure ended up prescribing me a narcotic I have extreme issues taking in order to help with the effects of not having my regular medication. This narcotic was Percocet. I have had horrible side affects including bleeding ulcers, , a rather severe hernia, and pancreatitis as a result of taking this medication in the past. My gastrointestinal doctor strongly advised me to take dilaudid and Percocet medication sparingly if at all. Dr. Acure has been informed of this on several occasions ( I had to return the unfilled prescription explaining this to KurePain doctors). Over weeks of waiting and trying to deal with the results of taking Percocet I have called my insurance regularly to check on the authorization. I was informed that KurePain submitted a letter dated January 15. This was rejected- insurance had no reply as of Jan 26. I had just spoken with KurePain to check on the statis! The lady informed me they had not heard back from my insurance! This was unacceptable! (Recall that I was informed KurePain called for preauthorization and would not fill out nor send letters as this was against their policy) KurePain had waited almost 2 weeks to even start this process for a medication I was never supposed to interrupt. I was so upset I just stood there at work and cried. I was in misery. KurePain had accomplished nothing for almost a full month now. What about my suffering? My pain? Loss of sleep? Constant throwing up and unable to eat because taking Percocet once again caused my stomach to flare up and horribly painful pancreatitis.

Loved the staff in the Leonardtown office when I went for my first appointment. The nurse was actually knowledgable on my rare condition and was very pleasant. The doctor was amazing as well. However, the company as a whole doesn't seem to care about patients. I have been waiting 3 weeks for a preauthorization to be submitted to my insurance. One time I called, I was told my insurance had not responded which was a lie because my insurance company still had not received the paper work from the office. At that point I pointed out the office lying to me and I have not gotten very good customer service since. So the corporate office has no problem lying to the patients and only has one person in the entire practice that submits pre-authorizations so it takes an unknown amount of time to get one. I called today to get another status update and the individual on the phone was not kind and understanding of my situation, terrible customer service and terrible office staff. Maybe the CEO should consider hiring more individuals to process the paper work. You were quick to bill my insurance company thousands of dollars for my visit but you are not very quick in providing me the needed paper work to get my test done.
