One can easy be intimidated by a male OBGYN, however Dr. Alshalabi is very hospitable, kind, welcoming, calm and professional. He talks to me in ways that I understand and he takes time with me. The office is clean, staff are professional and service is always timely.

After working with Ob-Gyn Associates in Silver Spring, MD I was hoping to find a better practice than my experience there but sadly enough this wasn't the case. I remember my first time calling Shelby Women Health to make an appointment and being on hold for a very long time before even being able to make an appointment as a new patient. Eventually I was able to make an appointment and didn't allow that initial first impression to negatively influence my opinion of the practice. I had my first appointment with the doctor and it appeared to go well. Then I had another appointment and actually met Dr. Alshalabi and I instantly thought he would be better than my previous doctors and I appreciate that he took the time to care for me and offered his expertise to me. Unfortunately I ran into issues with this practice completing FMLA documentation for my spouse and I and it is being blamed on the fact that the supervisor, Carla, was out of the office and that Dr. Alshalabi was also out of the office. The only issue with this statement is one of our forms was submitted four weeks ago. Unless they both were out for four weeks, I'm not sure why it is taking so long to complete these forms especially since we have deadlines at work to return them. In addition, I have also ran into issues with a lab this practice goes through giving false positives and when the same test was conducted with Lab Corp or Quest, the results were negative. While I understand this was out of there control, it still puts you in an uncomfortable position with so many uncertainties. It seems as if I left one problematic practice and encountered another practice with problems as well. I understand that no one practice will be perfect, but there are simple things that you expect to simply be good customer service and unfortunately I haven't experienced that here. Now that I'm approaching 40 weeks, I think I'll have to stick it out here but truly was hoping this place would have been better.

GREAT STAFF AND ALSO GREAT DOCTOR!!!!! HE DELIVERED MY BABY ON 02/29/2016 , IF HE DIDNT ARRIVE AT THE HOSPITAL ON TIME THAT I WOULD OF LOST MY BABY BECAUSE MY LABOR WAS PASSING BY AND TIME WAS CLICKING. SO AS SOON AS HE ARRIVED "BOOM! MY BABY BOY AND A HEALTHY ONE TOO WAS BORN !! TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM.
