God bless. This place is like going to a resort, sand volleyball courts, spa hot tub outdoors, outdoor swimming pool, basketball outdoors. Great. We love it.

Relatively clean, weight area, cardio area, and class rooms are in good order. Locker rooms could use some help but what place has perfect locker rooms?

It's a popular spot and can get busy but most gyms are... this is California. It's clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and the trainers know what they are doing. I would recommend this gym

Short: LA Fitness Corporate is awful, this gym in particular would be OK if it wasn't oversold, populated by meatheads, and you could park without penalty. The pool and staff are bright spots. Long: The location isn't terrible; the parking is often a nightmare. I stopped using the parking because it would routinely take 20-40(!) minutes to leave the parking lot during peak times (6-8pm), and if you're over 2 hours, you get charged for your overage, even though you tried to leave much earlier. So even before you get in the doors it sucks. Then it's a typical gym sign up experience - they try to bilk an "initiation fee" out of you, which you should NEVER PAY to a corporate gym. Just wait them out for a no-fee day or they will call and harass you after you take your first tour and you can say "If you knock off the fee I'll join" and then there you go. What I'm currently incensed about is cancelling. You have to either cancel in-person or you have to print out a form and send it in. I tried twice to cancel in-person before I moved and was given twice the response "sorry the person that does that is on break, come back in an hour". Maybe I'm just unlucky. So I asked their customer service why we couldn't cancel over the phone or via the internet and it was because of "traceability". Never mind the absurdity of snail mail being more traceable than an online form - this is an obvious ploy to bilk another month or two of fees from people who have moved and don't have time to find envelopes/stamps/etc until the dust settles. So that's just the corporate experience. The gym experience at this location is mixed. There are plenty of meatheads here - never expect the dumbbells to be put away, expect weights to be dropped, expect some hilarious grunters. But honestly. I expect this from LA. People are incentivized to not put dumbbells away because the second you step out of your space in the free-weight area to change dumbbells some hipster-haircut will steal your space. Still, people aren't overtly rude, just the typical LA I'm-not-going-to-acknowledge-your-existence rude. The main problem is that the gym is oversold. As more people start working nearby the gym is just going to get worse. Going at peak times means your workout is going to take between 30-50% longer, and there is no chance you could do anything like a superset (unless you're really, really selfish and rude, which happens on occasion). Many of the machines are often broken. This was frustrating. There was a one-week stretch were all three of their rowing machines were broken. The weight machines broke often as well, and often sat for a month before being repaired. This wouldn't be a huge deal if you could ever get a bench, but forget about it. Getting a bench has the same odds as getting from SM to downtown in a half-hour. The outdoor pool is actually nice, and decently maintained. I wish they had a suit spinner. Also, there are no pool rules posted, so expect kooks to take up a lane just floating on occasion, and also expect some type A dudes to come through and demand to circle-swim. I think I've noticed 3 different General Managers pass through in my 3 years of attending this club. I've seen dozens of different salespeople, not usually lasting more than 6 months. There's an orange-haired personal trainer who seems like a solid trainer - I've definitely eavesdropped on some of the trainers and he's positive and gives good, in-depth advice. I actually have always really liked the front desk staff. They are usually really nice and friendly, and the maintenance staff seems to work hard.

My go to gym. I go during off hours so it's never too crowded. But if you go anytime between 4pm-8pm.... Good luck
