I hotel weekly for work, and was very disappointed pulling into this location. There is no care for outdoor safety during construction- they are doing a lot of renovations at this time, which I'm sure will look great when finished... But for now, temporary lighting is a step they should  have moved forward with to keep guests safe. 

The parking is very limited, and the majority of the parking is barely lit (no spotlights like the small parking area in front).  I had a hard time holding my luggage and trying to see where I was going/trying to avoid construction/nails/etc... The room itself is nice and freshly painted, but I would not come back knowing the parking situation with my rental car.

PS: The walls are paper thin, and the hotel is located next to active train tracks. I suggest you take the free earplugs as you walk in, their giving them out for a reason.

Location: it's not the most scenic spot for a hotel in Portland. BUT--it's so close to the old port and all the dining and shopping there. If you don't absolutely require a water view, you could probably save a few dollars by staying here.
Price: I found the room to be a very good deal. The hotel was under renovation when I stayed, though, so there was probably an extra discount on the room. Still, I do expect that this place is generally a good deal.
Facility: Renovation was under way during my visit. The room was nicely renovated and clean. There was a mini fridge you could use, and if I remember correctly, a small microwave???? Don't quote me on the microwave. There is a complimentary breakfast downstairs.
Staff: they were great. Helpful and generally able to answer questions I had.

I only take points off because of the location. As long as you have a car, though,  I doubt it will trouble you.

Rooms recently refurbished..very nice. Exterior now being renovated, totally wrapped in plastic no views from inside room. Staff still the friendliest around.

Comfortable pet friendly hotel. Easy access to 295 & minutes from downtown. (Caution currently the exterior is being renovated & there's limited natural light in the rooms)

I booked online. No where did it say this hotel was under construction. For the rate I booked the room for it certainly didnt imply a discount for this. Room is nice enough but right outside my window is a crane and the noise that comes with it. I might have spent more $$ and went somewhere else if this was told to me up front. I even called the hotel ahead of time to confirm my reservation and that my request for early check in was going to be later then I expected. At this time nothing was said to me either.
