Mostly a convenient location. This is an older hotel and it shows. They seem to be dog friendly only because they have to be (the person who checked us in was not impressed we were traveling with two dogs and made that clear by her attitude), but at least they honored the fact that they are. I'm not sure the wisdom of putting the people with dogs on the third floor but at least we were near the stairs. God forbid you may want to sleep past 8 am though, that's when the construction starts on the second floor. Good luck with that afternoon nap as well, as it goes on until 5 pm. We stayed here three nights and Sunday was the only morning I wasn't woken up to the sound of power tools and hammering directly under me. Never did get that nap. Now, I started this review with this was an older hotel and it shows, and I'm glad they are doing updates, however they started the construction before 8 am and then had stopped the really loud stuff by 9, not to restart it until 10. Couldn't they have planned a bit better to be more considerate to people that wanted to at least sleep in AL little bit while they were on vacation? The room was fairly clean, however whomever vacuumed apparently didn't see the many pieces of large glitter all over the floor, because if I picked them all up I could have had my own glitter party. Water pressure in the shower was below average. The bed was ok, nothing to write home about and seemed to have a lump in the middle. Ac seemed to work fine but it was always a lot warmer when we came back for the evening then it was in the morning or after we'd been here for a couple hours in the evening so I'm not sure what was up with that. I liked the paintings they had on the wall in the room. Pool was nice. Breakfast was average and the coffee was just OK. The "dog exercise area" (no kidding, it was labeled that with a sign) was a complete joke, it was maybe a 10 x 5 grassy place in the middle of the parking lot. I'm hoping it was a joke anyway. I posted a picture of it, which, unfortunately, makes it look bigger than it actually was. They did have poop bags, in two places, but none in the "dog exercise area" (seriously, it had a sign.) There was a bigger grassy area on the other side of the hotel that had poop bags too. I will probably not be staying here again, next time I'm in Texas I'll look elsewhere. We almost always stay at a La Quinta when we are traveling because we almost always have the dogs with us, so I'm sure we will stay at another La Quinta but definitely not this one.

Beds are a bit firm for me but it is a very quiet hotel, friendly staff and most important meticulously cleaned daily.

Great stay comfortable rooms. This hotel is with in walking distance to restaurants and grocery/convenience stores

The rooms and the staff are nice and so is the breakfast, but they need more stations on TV, nothing mostly but news and sports,how about HBO, Showtime, OWN... etc
