Although the viewing rooms in the Landmark Theaters' Opera Plaza Cinemas are small, my friends and I have never had issues getting walk-up seats. That's probably because this theater specializes in international films that are well into their worldwide release cycle. Opera Plaza Cinema serves an important role in the diverse Cinema scene in Northern California, bringing to our City fine international movies that might not otherwise see the light of day in San Francisco.

I very much enjoyed how the movies here are curated. It's a nice mix of indie, artsy, and foreign film that the mainstream theatres don't show most of the time. I do wish the seats were more comfortable and that the screens were not at weird angles to the seats in the auditoriums. The staff is fairly indifferent to the moviegoers, but usually they spark up if you talk to them about film in general.

Comfortable seats. But seemed like a lonely location. Not too moviegoers.

One of my favorite movie theatres in the city. It’s small, but the movies that are shown here are the very best. It’s hidden in the back of the Opera Plaza, but the inside and the surroundings are charming and the people who come here feel like kindred spirits.
