Saw Kibakichi, an obscure Japanese film about a Werewolf Samurai Warrior with my friend here back when I first moved to San Francisco in 2005. We were incredibly stoned and transfixed by the oddball movie. More recently my girlfriend, friends, and I went to see an anime called Mind Game. Went to their smaller, cozier theater this time and the experience was great. I love these sort of places and the kind of media they play.

Great selection of independent, foreign, and occasional mainstream films, and super friendly staff. The theater itself is older and a little run down, but it's clean and reasonably comfortable and the environment doesn't detract from the movie-going experience.

The Roxie is a San Francisco gem! A historic, not-for-profit theater that has tons of amazing independent and box office hits! They have fresh popcorn with real butter, sodas, beer and candy! A great theater with lots of fun events, and good food and drink options in the area :)

This is the oldest continuously-run movie theater in the US. I've seen quite a few films here, including a number of films that I made myself. There's a very nice "community feeling" to this theater.

A good show with a small but serviceable concession booth. Great selection of Indy films.
