I started knitting at this shop about four years ago, right before my first grandchild was born.
I have learned an incredible amount since then and continue to create for my now 4 grandchildren. Chris, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable and talented and shares her skills with her patrons. The staff is so helpful and encouraging, always willing to go the extra mile. And the shop is wonderful...filled with gorgeous yarn, supplies, patterns and project samples. A very special aspect of this shop is the community of knitters that come to knit and socialize and share ideas. Truly a home away from home....my happy place!

Linden Yarn and Textiles has an excellent selection of a wide variety of yarn and projects. Chris does a great job researching up and coming projects and yarn options for every level of knitter. The shop samples are amazing! They offer exceptional help through Salon's, Knit A Long sessions, and everyday quick questions. The location is great with ample parking.

I went to this store for a little help picking up a couple of dropped stitches on my project. I was told that it would cost $12.00 for walk-in help. When I asked if she was joking, she said that she was in a business and this is a service.

I told her that this is definitely not service and walked out. Plus it is very tiny and the people were very rude and uppity.

Go to Field of Depth on Cedar St. In Minneapolis for great service and they don't charge for helping with problems.

One salesperson was helpful, however the other was incredibly pushy.  Not a welcoming atmosphere and the prices are higher than you pay elsewhere.  They charged me for printing a pattern, and then the printing was incorrect.  They do not even offer to wind your yarn, however you can "use" their swift.  Will not be back.

I started going to this location after the one at 44th and France closed.  I've unfortunately been very disappointment on each of my 4-5 visits.  The selection is incredibly small, which is disjappointmenting. The environment doesn't spawn creativity. And most frustrating are the workers (at least the one worker who I've seen there every time).  She definitely knows her stitches and has helped me fix several errors in my projects but she makes sure to charge you ($10/time -- even if it's 2 stitches/30 seconds of help) and make sure you know you're being an annoyance the whole time (she repeatedly tells you that she "can't work on this long because there are other people in the store").  I'm not sure she means to be rude, but she offends many customers (who mumble about it to other customers in the store).  I definitely appreciate her help but don't feel that I should be made to feel like I'm a hassle, especially when I'm paying $10 cash for less than 5 minutes.  I won't be going back to this store. Although StevenBe is a further drive for me, the atmosphere and friendly (and free!) help and wide selection of yarn wide-outweighs the benefits of a closer store.  No more Linden Yarn for me.
