I thought I would just spend the night there and continue my trip the next morning. I ended up staying another night, because I really enjoyed it. The first night I had a campsite down by the river. Wow what a view when the sun goes down. The second night, I was a bit higher. I took a walk with my dog at night, and there was a great atmosphere. I think it was special because you could see everyone around their fire looking at the water and the sunset. Everyone was quietly enjoying the beauty of nature at the same time. Each road is like at a different height so the view is always great. Except if you pick a ''forest'' campsite, you don't have the same view obviously you see trees. Employees were nice at the office. I used the laundry room and it was clean. There's also many facilities that you can use like a TV room and a game room. I think the price I paid was reasonable.

Super campground super service, can't be faulted. Most pitches seemed to be separated by trees and bushes which gave a secluded feel but some areas were a little more densely packed. Highlight was canoeing with my son. The site had a good selection of Canadian tin canoes and plastic kayaks and we opted for the former. At $25CAD for four hours it was fantastic value for money but the best bit was being able to explore the river, the sandbanks, dead trees, basins and see a blue heron feeding close up. A real highlight of our week on Vancouver Island. Book early!

Wonderful place to stay. Lots of trails to walk around. Staff are excellent. Pets are allowed. It's a very safe and pleasant location to spend the winter or summer.

This is a truly special place. It has variants for just about every style of camping, the facilities are clean and well maintained and the amenities cover all the essentials; even down to propane fire bowl and tank rentals during the dry summer months when fire bans are everywhere. This was my first visit and definitely will not be my last. Give yourself a treat and check this place out.

There is very little privacy compared to what I'm used to in the mountains of Alberta, tent sites are right next to each other. There are 12 bathroom stalls for over 200 campsites, which is pretty decent, but the stalls have the toilets on either side of a thin wall, back to back, with massive openings on the side of all the outhouses, maybe 7 feet off the ground with only a screen to cover the opening, so again, not very private. If someone wanted to see in all they would have to do was jump up or stand on something. Basically my complaint is that there isn't much privacy, otherwise the campsite is in a great location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They have wifi, which is nice, but only in certain areas.
