When one obeys the letter of the law but not the spirit, one is obeying the literal interpretation of the words (the "letter") of the law, but not necessarily the intent of those who wrote the law. Conversely, when one obeys the spirit of the law but not the letter, one is doing what the authors of the law intended, though not necessarily adhering to the literal wording. LBPD stop making money from others or one these days LBPD will regret taking advantage of the residents. I am not typing this to threatened, break any laws but people need their vehicles. DMV makes a lot of money and does not repair our roads, streets, but the same people that suppose to protect us leaves us on the street. DUI, well there's nothing to say their, but DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. If the person is committing illegal conduct, then by any means necessary, take the vehicle, not bcs of registration. LBPD left me homeless when a trucking company terminated me bcs the owner says I was behind my truck payment ans I was not. I sacrificed to live in a motorhome to complete the truck payments. The motorhome had Foremost Insurance and I had called 911 for assistance, then ex girlfriend called, too. LBPD arrived looking for me, as a result, LBPD officer towed my Ford Mallard with John Deere chassis and I had invested approximately $9,000 for paint, lights, motor, insurance, windows, personal belongings, computer, lap tops, watches, clothes, tools, a beautiful painting of the Golden Gate Bridge, everything. LBPD officer left us on the street from Oct. 14, LBPD has Oct. 13 on record, 2016. What a mistake! I complaint to City Attorney and they say Mallard was not registered in Ca. Another mistake! The person in charge needs to get team organized, don't take it in a bad way. Finally, I don't want to come across an LBPD officer bcs I am afraid I am going to get shoot, or be put in handcuffs, or maybe left homeless, and I am Class A driver with Tankers. HazMat endorsement. I am asking for the City Attorney to do the right thing bcs I was left with pain and suffering and a bad memory of me calling 911 to assist me, violating my Constitutional Rights bcs of a DMV registration, another mistake, us it was on private property, Aug. 31, 2017. I had payed DMV plus had a moving permit on the passenger side. The owner of the property did not give authorization to tow any vehicle. Be responsible! You call 911 and the officer leaves you on the street for 40 nights living on the streets. You go and apply for a job and leave ur home, return to nothing. What would you do? How would feel? Are you human or are dreaming? Thank you, Grajeda, Herman

Long Beach is the city of corruption . The city and all of the associated departments don't give a damm about the citizens. The city will screw you when your down and employees feel that they do not have to explain things even though tax payers are the ones who are responsible for their salaries.

[ALWAYS TAKE PICTURES OF WHERE YOU PARK] First off if you believe you were wrongfully towed, you may contact your local law enforcement office and/or file a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau. They said the car was parked in front of a drive way when it wasn't and just so happened to be towed right before a 3 day weekend(their closed on the weekend). It also said it was a "citizen complaint". What's even more suspicious is that there were at least 4 other cars from our neighborhood that got towed by this company. How much do you want to bet that they were all "parked in front of a drive way" it doesn't take much to pull a car in front of a drive way, take a picture, and tow it after. The tow companies are targeting the 7th and orange. At night I see them from my balcony driving in circles looking into people's cars for hours until they get one and then they're back again in 30 minutes or so. "Citzens complaint" is a cop out and basically means they can tow you because they want to and say it was a complaint. All of you out there remember to never park on the ends of street parking if possible. If they can get you they will.

5 unpaid tickets and they can legally steal your car. They give you 10 minutes to grab everything you can from your vehicle. You have to go alone and if you can't get it all in one trip then "oh well". Best part is you need to show up by 4:30pm or you can't get to your vehicle. Hopefully you don't have a job so you can figure out how to get your stuff. Cross your fingers the person with a car that comes to help doesn't have a normal schedule. Ruined my life. Thanks Long Beach.

I had the worst experience here. I am from Los Ángeles. I got into an accident yesterday, my friend crashed onto someone who took a red light. She was in the hospital. I called them at 2 in the morning because my keys stayed in the truck that was crashed. I wanted to confirm that so I wouldn't have to look elsewhere. They told to get the vin number so they can look inside the car. So I called them back and gave it to and they told me they were not able to go in the car until 8:00AM, and to call back at ThAt time so I did. Then they told me that they were not able to look inside the car, that the owner had to come inside for herself. Keep in mind she was in the hospital. I told them that was my only key and that I needed to take my kids to school, it was very important to get it. Then they said I needed to get an authorization letter from her then I was able to come. When I finally saw her she was already getting discharged. I called them to let them know that I was going with the owner. They said well there is going to be an $82 charge to look for my keys. And if it wasn't there I would still have to pay. So knowing that I really needed my keys I told them that's fine. Once he heard that he said I would have to come in to four PM... that would have to be a four hour wait in Long Beach. My friend was in pain. I showed up there and he was being so rude he did not want to help, he said it was short staffed. We were there and there was around 15 men in the yard. We whistled to come help, and they did. Thank God. We were victims of an accident. It's mest up the guy on the phone didn't consider our situation, and the guy on yard did. He opened for us and helped us out. Did not charge. That's the only reason I'm giving a one star on this review. God bless him. Please hire good staff like him. Thank you
