This is Tyler's No Nonsense Review: The Lookout Mountain Incline is a rail car that travels to and from the top of Lookout Mountain. The idea itself is a cool idea and it offers some pretty views, but I would recommend skipping this attraction. The rail cars that you are traveling in are in very poor condition and could use a major upgrade. It was also very unclear when the trains would be leaving when we first arrived. The ride only last about 10 minutes making it hard to justify the cost. I would recommend spending your time at nearby Ruby Falls or Rock City and enjoy the views there.

One of a kind experience! It takes you straight up the side of lookout mountain in a rail car and let's you see amazing views you could only see in this instance. Once you are at the top, you can walk around and look off the mountain at all the scenery and downtown Chattanooga. Amazing place by far.

We Loved it :) Boarding was scary just because of the sharp incline. At times the ride was scary (no noises or anything just the plunging/rising view), but we felt safe, and the ride went great! Make sure you have your cameras ready :) We had a small break, so hubby and I took a walk to the stores across the street, and made it back in time. The conductors were pleasant, and stores by the platform were just lovely :) We got tickets through the hotel package, and was able to do several things including the sunset cruise, Ruby Falls, and Chattanooga Zoo.

It was okay. If you have been to rock city then you saw pretty much the same view. You just ride the train down and then get off and wait for it to go back up. Looking back I would have saved the money. It's $15 for a round trip ticket. The incline system itself is very impressive. It was a cool experience but I won't do it again.

Very neat to ride the rail car up and down the mountain. They go up about every half hour. The two train cars are connected by cable so when one goes up the other comes down. At the bottom there are a few great restaurants (highly recommend St Elmo Deli!) And an ice cream shop. At the top they have an extensive gift shop with lots of food and candy, and several levels of observation decks. It's also a short walk out of the gift shop to go see Point Park and Battles for Chattanooga.
