Los Abrigados was a pleasant hotel overall. The location was wonderful. The room was older but still in good shape. The staff was very friendly. The only downside was that they wanted to sell us timeshares or something along those lines. The managing company, Diamond Resorts, makes the staff give you a sales pitch when you check in about their sister properties. They ask you to watch a long video/sales presentation in order to receive coupons to restaurants or hotels. That part was extremely high pressure and not enjoyable. It's hard to want to go back to Los Abrigados knowing that we'll have to listen to another sales pitch.

Very quaint hotel. The rooms come with a living area, kitchen with amenities (dishwasher, refrigerator, stove top, dishes, coffee maker, microwave), dining room, a back patio, and a separate bedroom or 2 (unless you get a studio suite). Everything nearby shuts down at about 9pm so it is a quiet place. The pool is open until 11pm. The shopping is mostly high fashion and jewelry. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. There are gorgeous views and good hiking areas nearby. I would consider this more of a romantic getaway or senior vacation.

My favorite hotel ever! I’ve come here several times a year for the past 10 years. So many great things about it. Great for kids, nice pool, plenty of activities, central location, has a beautiful river with a bird sanctuary, right by Telacapaque, I could go on for ever! HIGHLY recommend!

Had a great time on a quiet weekend getaway. Staff was kind enough to bring us extra hangers and pool towels. We saw a few ants, but the resort warned us early that this was due to nearby construction and the cyclical nature of the insects. Not a big deal if you put your food away. Winter was a great time of year for a visit - I wore a t-shirt most of the day.

Really nice hotel with lots of amenities. Rates were more than fair for the room. It had a nice kitchenette with two burners, kitchen utensils, microwave, full size fridge and freezer. There were TV's in both the main living room area and in the bedroom. Lots of closet space. Patio was well maintained and had a view of the well kept grounds. Close to lots of good restaurants and shops.
