My mind has been blown and I will never think of pizza the same way again. Nor will I ever taste a better pizza. This place serves a pizza beyond what I could have imagined. I found them advertised on Food Networks "you gotta eat here" and decided to visit when I went to Chicago...and I wasn't disappointed! I only ordered their deep dish pizza and their Malnati's salad. The pizzas bread is what first makes the pizza extraordinary. It's flavor and taste is like nothing I've ever had before. Then the juiciness of the filling is greatly attributed to the sauce with extra chunks of tomatoes. The Chicago classic was the first pizza I had which was filled opposite than a regular pizza (cheese on the bottom, then sausage, then tomatoes and sauce). The Lou pizza is great too, but I'd highly recommend starting with the Chicago pizza. As said before, also order the salad as it is so refreshing and delightful. Because these restaurants can be so busy and the pizza takes a long time to order the seating hostess will offer to put in your order while you wait so it will be done when you get to your seat. I would recommend not doing this... At least not right away. We did this and although the pizza was still amazing it did come to our table a little cooler than when we got to sit at our table and served it right when it was done.

Be prepared for some seriously good pizza. The deep dish pie in the picture is sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and extra cheese. First off you will not need extra cheese, more than enough as it comes. I am a huge pizza fan, worked in the business for years running a franchise, eat pizza every where I go and love to find something new. This style where the sauce is mild and on the top of a stuffed pizza was very good. The toppings we're edge to edge, really, the pie had more sausage (mild sweet Italian) and pepperoni than I've ever seen on a pizza before. I barely finished two slices! Be ready for a wait though. It takes about a half hour to cook the pie.

I first came to Chicago, of course, I have to visit a notorious pizza in a deep pizza dish modeled on Chicago. I and my friend Saturday night want to come to dinner, disappointed, it's an hour and a half waiting to get a table. They are not reservations, so we had to go back the next day, hoping to get a table. For us on Sunday evening about 7 points, I got no problems on the table. It is a very wonderful atmosphere, but it is very difficult to dine, especially with my friend and I on the upper side. The waiter was very vigilant and gave a good service. The food is really tasty! If you're in Chicago, I'll definitely be back.

Very good pizza great environment. A classic Chicago deep dish pizza place. Our night was fun and the service was friendly. The pizza was good but we thought that chicken sausage in the pizza was under-seasoned and somewhat bland and it took just over an hour to get the deep dish (should be 45 minutes or so normally) . The deep dish pizza was good but felt like the tomato sauce was runny and it was dripping liquid when we cut it up. It was great night overall and this is a famous chain, but I feel the pizza wasn't as flavorful as I had expected, and felt a bit soggy and not baked thoroughly enough.

THIS...IS...PIZZA...PERIOD! I've been to several Chicago locations, and hands down, it is my favorite pizza restaurant in America. I know many Americans prefer thin crust, or New York style, but I have to vehemently disagree with them. Lou's is the place to go in Chicago, and I wish they had a few restaurants in South Florida. Yes, I know you can have a pie shipped to you, but nothing beats a fresh pie at the actual restaurant. It's hearty, flavorful, and it goes down great with a cold beer. Want an idea of my perfect Chicago summer night? Dinner at Lou Malnati's, then head to Wrigley Field for a Cubs game, followed up with bar hopping in River North. Lou Malnati's I miss you, and anyone who visits Chicago, I beg them to stop in for a bite to eat.
