Story

Built by famed architect Julia Morgan in 1918, and steeped in Stanford history, MacArthur Park is home to classic Bar-B-Q made with local ingredients and served with respect. Characterized by its traditional grandeur, our space is full of light and denotes its polished personality and nostalgia. Since we opened in 1972, we’ve been proud to welcome members of this vibrant community, and we plan on carrying on the tradition for decades to come.

Great food, great service. We had a large party, food came fast, was all hot and everyone was happy. I had fish and it was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend you have reservations and use the valet parking for $6. Enjoy.

Wasn't overly impressed, the food was good but the service and ambiance wasn't up to par. Based on the price of the food, I was expecting more. Didn't see our server very much, it took a while to get our order, I asked for a dipping sauce for our appetizer which arrived long after the appetizer was finished, also she never checked on us after we were served. The bar was not in great shape, had allot of clutter and the bar tender seemed to be stretched thin and struggling to keep up with service.

I've been here many times before with co-workers for happy hour and it has always been good food and great service. Today, I decided to try the dining room for dinner. I ordered the jumbo grilled prawns w/rice and my spouse ordered the ribs. My food came and it was cold!! My spouse tried the prawns first and he said, is it supposed to be cold?? Then, we waited a good 10 minutes for the check after asking for it, we couldn't wait any longer and had to go to the young lady to pay and wait some more. All in all, I will not be dining here except for happy hour. I was raving about the place so much that it was extremely disappointing to me and my spouse that the food was cold and the horrible service. Will not bring my spouse here, ever!!
