Paul and his crew get a star for helping me out in a pinch and a star for price. Otherwise dealing with Maine shore mechanical was a nightmare. My boiler broke and I got a quick reasonable quote. I left a check in full (I would NOT recommend this if you hire this company) and got a promise from Paul that “we stand behind all our work and whatever issues come up we will handle them”...I came home to an obviously rushed boiler replacement with water spurting from 2 locations. I called and Paul said he would come the next day (probably should've come right away but I digress). I left explicit instructions to NOT leave the house until he made sure everything was working. I came home the next day and the leaks were fixed; however, my downstairs zone baseboard heat was not working. Paul then proceeded to tell me that I had a bad thermostat and that was the problem. It wasn’t. He was obviously too rushed to troubleshoot the problem since it was clear that he installed the wrong zone controller (which only accommodated one zone even though I had two zones that worked fine previously). I gave him time to catch up (21 days!) with his other projects since he gave me the impression that he was very busy and my problem was not an emergency. I then told him I wanted him to come back and finish the project that he promised he would stand behind. I asked for him to finish the work while I was present on either a night or weekend (since this was twice now he had left without finishing the job). He refused. At this point I was finished dealing with a man who clearly had gotten his pay check and had no interest in completing the project. Did I mention you should NOT pay him in full up front? I was forced to find someone else to come replace the incorrect zone controller Paul had haphazardly installed. As I suspected the thermostat was fine... Terrible experience. Terrible business man. Find someone else if you want to avoid a headache.

Contractor does not clean up after himself. Installed new bathtub valve and did not take the "safety" off so shower temperatures for my new tenant were freezing. This should be something any experienced plumber checks before leaving a jobsite. Received a text 2 months after work completion asking if the owner could pick up a check. A check for what? I never received an invoice in the mail. Or email. Nor a summary statement of the work completed and payments made to date. After having to have this company come back multiple times to fix minor easy fixes (the inconvenience factor that other companies would not leave as an issue for the property manager to clean up/fix), plus having to spend my personal time cleaning up after the contractors in your employ (including washing a BRAND NEW TOILET multiple times because apparently boys don't know how to clean up after themselves when using a bathroom), I feel not only that I overpaid for this simple job, but I should be compensated for MY time. I was routinely left out of the scheduling loop and was expected to cater to this company's ever changing schedule. I was never notified when parts of the job were completed. Communication makes the world go round. I also feel that being a single young female I was taken advantage of. And THEN when I just spoke to Paul Smith today regarding his lack of professionalism, stating a real business doesn't drive around picking up checks on demand (and 2 months late), he stated to me that he fixed my tenant's water temperature for free - WELL NO KIDDING. BECAUSE YOU INSTALLED IT IMPROPERLY THE FIRST TIME. When I tried speaking calmly to him, he hung up on me. This company is unprofessional, lacks experience, and I would not recommend them to any person.

I had the pleasure of working with Paul; he kept everything very professional while giving a personable experience that you won't get from others. I would highly recommend Paul and MaineShore Mechanical to any one in need of heating, plumbing, and cooling services.

Paul found a great heating solution using a natural gas conversion to save us money on an old boiler. He and his team are very clean, neat and professional and we highly recommend MaineShore to anyone in need of a local plumber and heating service.
