Awful customer service Joe left the job without informing me the boiler was not fixed. After making several frantic phone calls to the company to find out what was going on, Dana Collins finally called me back to tell me that they had not fixed the boiler and the part needed was on back order for 10 days. It would have been nice to know since my tenants didn't have heat or hot water in the middle of January. When I asked if they could get it from anywhere else Dana told me "if you think you can find the part do it yourself" I ordered the part myself, had it shipped overnight and paid 1/2 what Waltz quoted even with the overnight shipping. It wasn't difficult to order and I'm not sure why they couldn't have ordered it from a different supplier considering it was back ordered from their usual supplier. When I expressed my frustrations about what had happened Dana Collins told me "Good luck finding someone else, we are the only ones who work on Baxi boilers." Since I was not happy, I called someone else to fix it, and by the way Dana, there are plenty of other people who fix Baxi's and actually know how to install parts correctly. The guy who did fix the boiler informed me the PC board that Joe installed was not installed correctly. Waltz still charged me $1,049 for an incorrectly installed part that I had to call someone else to fix and were incredibly rude. Dana claimed Joe called me and I didn't answer my phone on purpose so that I didn't have to pay the bill. In reality I spent three hours trying to get a hold of them to figure out why the boiler wasn't working and no one ever mentioned that I had to pay $1,049, besides they have my credit card on file and I've always paid my bills the day I get them. I've used Waltz for over 10 years and only the last two years have I had problems with them every-time. I will never use them again.

Similar to other reviews - they will charge a MINIMUM of $95 just to come and "diagnose" a problem, even though their trucks have "free estimates" printed on them. I called and told them that my furnace blower motor was making a bad noise and that it likely needs replacing. They sent someone out who took an hour and a half ($145!) to tell me what I told them over the phone. The technician then said that they would find out how much the replacement parts would cost and be in contact with me to provide an estimate. They never tried to contact me again. These people are completely crooked. Avoid if possible.

To save you the reading, Richard P Waltz is expensive, has the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with, and has no accountability for the mistakes its staff makes. I genuinely feel bad for anyone who has to deal with them or chooses to use them in the future. Richard P Waltz hooked up my gas dryer. The gas line and venting was already done by the people who built my house. I was disappointed to get a bill for $293 dollars when I was quoted $75-100 online but I didn’t argue and paid it because I know gas installation is a tougher service and I was just relieved to be able to do laundry. Three weeks later, I smelled gas and had the gas company come out and verify it was a gas leak. Unitil red tagged the appliance and said the gas pipe was hooked up improperly. I called Richard P Waltz plumbing back and said it needed to be fixed, especially after being charged $300 to have it installed. I said I’d prefer to have someone new come out and fix it because the original plumber, Lee, hooked it improperly. They said it had to be him to come back and fix it because it was done under his license. Fine. They also stated they were going to verify that it was their mistake otherwise it’d be another chargeable call. I said it was their mistake, as verified by the gas company but they continued to say they’d verify that their selves and would be out tomorrow morning. Well, they never called or showed that. Lee, the plumber, called the following morning saying he’d come that day but he knew it was the venting. He then explained he didn’t know why my house had a vent on the wall, when it should be in the floor, and he’d come back with new materials and if it still wasn’t solved, I’d have to get my floor dug up. (Meanwhile my vent is not on my wall but in my floor and what does a vent have to do with a pipe leaking gas??) So the next morning, no one called or showed up again. Eventually, the operations manager called me to say Lee was on the way (6 hours late) but it'd be a chargeable call. I reminded the manager, the tag specifically said it was hooked up improperly, who then told me it was because their company does not like using the equipment the dryer comes with . I said fine but once again, what does this have to do with the pipe leaking gas? Ignored once more. Lee shows up and says he’ll need to collect $80 for me and he will fix the vent. I write a check and he continues to fix the vent. I point to the red tag on the dryer and say, “if it was the vent, why did Unitil check off “piping” not “venting”. Lee responds and say “they just put the tag wherever is convenient for them”. He continues to re-do my entire vent with his materials. I feel uneasy about this because I know he will leave and I will be left with the same problem, gas leaking from the pipe attached to the back of my dryer so I call Richard P. Waltz dispatch and simply as, “is there a difference between the vent and the pipe?” They verify there is and say they will call Lee to follow up. Lee then storms down the stairs and snaps, “so what is your problem now? If you have a problem, you come upstairs…not call the office”. I go into the laundry and point to the pipe to the back of the dryer and say the leak is coming from the connection at the dryer from the PIPE.” Lee snaps, “why didn’t you tell me this in the first place?” Seeing as how I’ve mentioned this to him and Dana and the rest of the company multiple times and it’s written CLEARLY on the red tag, I’m surprised a plumber (who said he’s done this for 20 years) didn’t know a gas leak comes from the pipe). Needless to say, he found the leak and left without saying a word to me or collecting any money.

Bad experience. Called and asked if they carried parts for rinnai heater. They said yes. Then said they had to order the parts. Delayed from one day to the next. A week to have heat again in late December unless we agreed to pay after hour charges. Will not recommend them and will not use them again.

I would highly recommend them to anyone! I woke up Sunday morning to find a leaking oil tank from a rust spot and had to swap out drip pans every two hours into 5 gallon buckets. I called them first thing Monday and they had someone out in less than 30 minutes! They had it quoted and scheduled same day and the next day my oil tank was completely replaced with piping that fit the curent code. Joe and his guys were awesome!
