I would not recommend staying here unless it is cheap. 
PROS: it is close to downtown and close to the casino. The prime rib special is outstanding. The pool is fun during summer. 
CONS: the hotel is getting old. If you’re here for a Navy school, this is not the best “bang for your buck”. It can get a little rowdy during summer. The only restaurant that is within walking distance is the hotel restaurant.

This hotel was a breath of fresh air.  Not only are the prices great, my room was completely updated, the beds were comfortable and everything seemed pretty upscale for it only being a 2 star hotel.  However, the best part of staying here was that it was clean.  You can tell that the staff are thorough and that management sets high standards for cleanliness.  Attached is a restaurant and you can even get room service.  Overall, I have no complaints and appreciate the pleasant staff at the front desk.  Highly recommend.

Attended the annual Newport County Radio Club holiday dinner at the location. Staff was extremely helpful and attentive. Food was served buffet style with a few specialty stations. All courses were excellent and there was more than enough for all attending. Recommended.

Aside from the poor view and dresser drowers randomly rolling open, the hotel was quiet. I had a maintenance issue that remained unattended too and expenssive room service. For example, 3 beers cost me $21. Not a bad bed to sleep in and friendly staff.

I travel a lot and I'm constantly staying in hotels. This place is definitely worth the price and the staff are great. Thank you!!
