Marin Mixed Martial Arts (Marin MMA) is the premier martial arts school in Marin County, offering classes for men, women, and children of all ages.

Story

Marin MMA is more than just martial arts instruction -- we are a tight knit community not only focusing on martial arts, but also looking to enrich all aspects of our student's lives. Our goal is to show everyone how they can enjoy the physical, mental and social benefits of practicing martial arts.

Whether you are looking to improve your health, learn self defense techniques, or become a serious competitive martial artist, Marin MMA offers classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kali Stick Fighting, Women's Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, and more.

MarinMMA is the home of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt Mikyo Riggs. Mikyo has trained with world class fighters in Jiu Jitsu and MMA. He has competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Muay Thai Kickboxing and learned from top champions in wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA. His students have titles in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Grappling, and Mixed Martial Arts competitions.

"Best Martial Arts School" has only been a category featured in the prestigious Best of Marin reader poll by Pacific Sun for three years - 2007, 2010, 2011. MarinMMA is proud to have earned the title of "Best Martial Arts School" in Marin for every year they have held this category, including most recently winning Best of Marin 2013!

This is a great training center! I feel like i'm part of a Family/Team at Marin MMA. My initial fear before joining a MMA training center was that it would be full of macho egotistical meatheads. Thankfully, I did not find that here. The instructors and students are all great, especially the Professor who is a true role model with a passion for sharing his extensive knowledge in Martial Arts. After my first free kickboxing training session, I knew that this was the place for me! Training in Muay Thai - Boxing - Kickboxing here has really helped me refocus! If you looking for a fun and exciting workout along with great self defense techniques, drop by and you'll be impressed! I've been training at Marin MMA for 3 months now and it has renewed my love of martial arts, health, and personal growth. I didn't realize that this was what I was missing in my life. My training at M-MMA has given me a greater drive that goes beyond weight loss, with new life goals and a newfound passion for healthy positive lifestyle. Joining Miko's team has been the best decision I've made as an adult. I can't wait to take my next step and start learning Jiu Jitsu from the best who was trained by- Ralph Gracie! I look forward to the next decade training here, winning gold medals, carrying on the knowledge and skills of Miko Riggs BJJ!

I have been a member of Marin MMA for four years and it is one of the best martial arts studios I have ever been to. The people there are so kind and welcoming; the instructors and staff are like a second family to me. Mikyo Riggs is wise beyond his years and I am truly honored to be his student. I look forward to coming back from college and training on the mat whenever life gives me the opportunity. The lessons that I have learned and the people whom I have met—I know—I will never forget. If you ever get the chance to come down to Marin MMA, and check it out for yourself, you won't regret it. It is a lovely place and a great community.

This piace is phenomenal. My son can't wait to go to his class five days a week and he complains that it does not have one on Friday too. Coach Andrew and coach Tim are amazing with their kids and Mikyo runs a tight ship.

"IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!" Marin MMA is a trap. They bill you when you go on vacation, and keep billing you long after you move out of town and have notified them of such. (months) We are still receiving harassing phone calls from their billing company because we stopped payment on a credit card charge which was made months after our son had stopped attending. We never had this issue with United Studios of Self-Defense, where our son went from age 8 through adult. Martial Arts Teachers usually care about their students, their lives and situations, and help guide the young developing personalities in a positive way. At the end of the day, Marin MMA falls flat on any integrity, IMHO. Read the fine print. If you don't notify them in writing, regardless of phone calls or conversations, they will continue to charge you long after you are gone... And will defer all responsibility to their billing company. Sat Nam.
