Beautiful place for a warm day hike in January! My only complaint is that the trails were not clearly marked at all. Lots of people, but that was totally understandable with The unseasonably warm weather. The lake was breathtaking, half frozen, with the ice reflecting and sparkling in the sun. Playground was cute, and would be nice and shady in the summer. We plan to come back when it gets warm.

Wonderful park for hiking, boating, relaxing, swimming or picnicking. Bring your own watercraft or rent one (various kinds available, such as kayaks, canoes, sailboats, etc.). Lots of walking and hiking trails around the lake and all over the park. The pool is open for swimming and lessons (nominal entrance fee). Large parking lot and no fee to enter park. State park staff are super helpful and friendly!

Our go-to park when the weather is nice. Dip your feet in the water, do a little fishing, and bring the pups! There are plenty of hiking trails with small access to the lake... Perfect for doggy swimming!

West launch trails awesome in early morning when dirt is frozen. The closer you get to noon the the frozen dirt becomes slippery mud. Go early. Even saw two park rangers hicking out there, makes you feel reassured if something goes wrong you won't be in distress for too long. Stay off of the ice looks very unstable.

It was great. If you like seeing tiny fishes then you should stand in water between ankle and knee depth and fish will swarm over to investigate. Occasionally, there's a bigger fish. The fish tickle a bit
