The first time I took my car in I was so impressed with the quality of service. Tommy, the owner, personally greeted me and took my car out to test drive it, then broke everything down for me in detail. He and his staff were professional, courteous, and friendly. According to what I was told, I needed a part of my transmission that was causing my CVT fluid to leak. My schedule had been hectic and I had had to put it off, but I had been intending on scheduling the service when my battery died early one Saturday morning on my way to work. Martocci is open on Saturday mornings, so I dropped it off for a battery replacement. I was charged over $135, which seemed like a lot, but I was in a bind. I was told that they threw in winterizing my vehicle. On Sunday, on my way to work, my oil light came and my car was running poorly. I turned around and checked my oil to find that it was completely empty. Now, I check my oil every week, and had checked it only two days before my battery replacement. It was full, and no evidence of oil leaking on my driveway. Thankfully I keep a few quarts in the house and filled it back up. On my way home from work that afternoon, my check tire pressure light comes on, and I discover my rear driver's side tire nearly flat. Coincidence? How is it my car goes in for one thing, and comes back with a bad tire and an no oil/oil leak? Still have yet to trust another mechanic to find out if the transmission issue is even legitimate. Now I've got to find someone to service my car that isn't going to rip me off and hand it back to me with more problems than it started with. Really disappointed.

While moving my daughter home from ESU on Thursday I had the misfortune of my car breaking down. Stranded 1 1/2 hours away from home in the freezing cold is definitely not my idea of a good day. Luckily I found Tommy Martocci & his mechanic Rusty! They were absolutely amazing, not only did they take my car in and repair it swiftly and properly(jumping me ahead of their busy shop to get me back on the road), but they were more than fair with the price, definitely an honest group. They were a pleasure to talk to also, just a genuine nice group of people. I honestly cannot say how grateful I am, my awful day turned out to be quite pleasant. Thank you Tommy & Rusty.

Before I start let me preface by saying that Tommy and his father were very friendly and polite. That being said, when I called the other day I asked specifically if they did emissions and state inspections there and was told yes, but for emissions they need to schedule ahead. So I set up an appointment and was told to show up between 9:30 and 10am the following day. I showed up at 9:45 and asked how long they thought everything would take. I was told 45min-1hour. Totally reasonable. Just before 11am (they hadn't even asked for my keys until this point so I know nothing has been done yet) I was told that they have to take the cars to a different location to get emissions testing because they don't do that there. Hmm... still, no big deal. They said it might take a while because they can't control the schedule of the place that does the emissions. (Why did I set up an appointment again?) They finally call the other place and ask the wait. They tell me "they're an hour out right now, so I don't know if you want to wait..." I said I need to get it done because I live out of state, so I'll wait. I said I'll snag an Uber to a nearby bar and grille to get lunch and a drink. No problem. Tommy actually drove me and dropped me off at the place as he took my car to the other place to get emissions. VERY kind of him to do so. No need to Uber. Cut to 1:30pm, three and a half hours after I showed up for my "appointment" at 10. I call the auto-shop and ask for a status update to see how much longer I'll be waiting. I'm told that my car just got out of the emissions and is on it's way back to Martocci's for the safety inspection. I figure that should take maybe a little over an hour. A little inconvenient, but hey, I have to get my car inspected. Cut to 2:50, over an hour from my last check in and I haven't heard from them yet. I call again, just to say "hey... what's going on?" ***THIS IS MY MAIN REASON FOR MY LOW STARS REVIEW*** [Up until this point I've been patient and polite and understanding that since they had to outsource the emissions testing, there are delays.] A woman answered the phone this time when I called. I said I'm just checking in on my car, I've been waiting for a while..." She cuts me off and says "I'm not in control of that, I'm at the mercy of the other shop that does the work, etc." (i.e. "This is not my problem." That's how she immediately came across to me, and I have never spoken with her yet.) I acknowledged that fact that she as the person behind the desk answering calls was not directly involved in my car's inspection. I wasn't blaming her as a person. But I wanted to let it be known that I had been waiting for some time now, way longer than I've ever waited for inspection stickers in the past. She gave me the same "It's not my fault, I can't help you, [IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM]" line and I realized I wasn't going to get anywhere with her. I told her it was fine and that I would just talk to the owners whenever I eventually got back there to collect my car; the people I spoke with in the morning when I dropped it off. She THEN informed me that she actually *was* one of the owners. So I said great, I'll talk to you now then. I told her I called ahead, set an appointment for 9:30-10 and showed up on time. It was now about 3pm and she told me it would be ANOTHER hour, making it a 6-hour wait on my part at this point. She was VERY rude and I was in no mood to play nice to someone who was clearly not extending the same courtesy to me. Tommy contacted me when my car was finally done and immediately apologized for the wait as well as for the "secretary" (I thought she was an owner?) and that there was some aggravation that he clearly heard about from her. Nothing against the actual car work or the interactions I had with Tommy and his father but that woman was absolutely awful on top of the very inconvenient 6-hour wait I had for a simple procedure of inspection stickers on a relatively new car.
