I was interested in a new 2017 Jeep Renegade. I searched online and found Max Motors had one with the options I wanted. The MSRP was $30,100, but their "Max Discount" of $9,690 brought their "Max Easy Price" to $20,410. This price included rebates from Chrysler as well as Max Motors discount. Brandon, a sales person at Max Motors, called me in the morning to set up an appointment for later that afternoon to come in for a test drive, etc. Max Motors is almost a 100 miles from my home, but the advertised price was a little lower than local dealers in my city so I decided it would be worth the drive. I walked into the dealership and was greeted by an employee who told me where Brandon was. He made a copy of my driver's license and insurance card. While waiting for him to come back, I noticed the overall appearance and attitudes of the employees were not very professional. One employee was walking out the door with a cigar hanging out of his mouth and other employees were shouting across the room at each other. When Brandon returned, I asked him if it would be alright if just myself and my friend test drove the vehicle. He said no, he would have to go. In my opinion, it is more awkward and difficult to determine whether or not you like a vehicle when you have a sales person in the backseat. We went for a short test drive. I really liked the Jeep Renegade and was ready to purchase it. After we returned to the dealership, Brandon and I went outside to walk around my car I was planning on trading in. He looked it over and wrote a couple things down. We went back inside the dealership and sat down at his desk. I told him I wanted to purchase the Jeep Renegade. He had the manager test drive my car. After he returned, Brandon came back to his desk saying he had bad news. He said a third party does the pricing on their website and they made a mistake by doubling the rebates. He said there was no way they could sell it to me for the $20,410 that was listed on their website. The lowest they were willing to go was just a little over $24,000. I was very upset. I told him I did not appreciate him wasting my time and fuel since it was almost 100 miles to the dealership from my home. I said he needs to get on their website and fix their mistake so they don't waste other people's time. He just said I appreciate that which made no sense at all. He didn't seem to care he wasted my time. I got my keys from the manager and left. In my opinion, Max Motors is dishonest, unprofessional, and incompetent.
