OK airport to fly in an out of, but landing traffic frequently ignores FAA regs (1000' or higher) and buzzes the surrounding community. This includes everything from small aircraft to helicopters and large jets.  Unfortunately, the airport policy is voluntary.  This means pilots can fly the recommended 800' elevation over a residential neighborhood at a 600' elevation.

This airport has a great staff and facilities, but no longer supports major carriers like United or USAir.

Great airport. Very quiet, very low amount of air traffic. Air traffic has continually dropped since peaking in 1997. Beautiful new terminal and love new flights to/from Las Vegas. Cal Jet Elite is high quality airline. Some members of local community are not aware of how air traffic is routed and encourage them to come to the Palomar Airport Advisory Committee (PAAC) to learn about the airport, aviation and FAA.
