This place is great. Go to their website or stop in the visitor center to see what activities they have going on to maximize your visits. Lots of different areas to explore and different activities to enjoy. The staff members are great, very helpful. Lots of things to do, walking, running, hiking, kids playground, piers, lots of shore line, camping, kayaking, fishing, exploring, picnic and grill areas. Very well kept area! Fun for the whole family!

I absolutely love McDowell. Good trails. Nice place to hike with children. The nature center is always clean, even the bathrooms! Just a reminder to visitors to PLEASE pick up your trash!

Super fortunate to live just a few miles from here. We come for the trails. They are well marked and serve for a great workout! The one time we came across the park staff, they were extremely nice and helpful.

The park is always clean, and it's a great place to take your dogs and kids. My dog is a pit mix and we never have a problem. The trails are small, but they're perfect for a brisk afternoon walk. You can even BBQ here! This little spot is a dream.

I"ve been hiking and tent camping here for about 11 years.  I love this place and spend Autumn, Winter and Spring out on the trails.  All the Rangers and those working in the Nature Center and very helpful and nice.  I'm very fortunate to live only a few miles from this beautiful preserve
