Today we had to put our beloved Norwegian Forest cat to sleep. I called to confirm that this facility was open on Easter Sunday. (Our family vet is in the suburbs and closed on the weekends). I spoke with a lovely, compassionate woman. It took us awhile to say our goodbyes at home—so when we finally arrived at MedVet the waiting room was quite full. One of the receptionists at the front desk recognized me as the caller from earlier in the morning. She immediately placed me and our cat in a room. A nurse entered the room and asked permission to take Wilson back to the exam room to insert an IV. As it turns out, Wilson was so near death that they could not insert the IV. A vet came into the room to explain the situation. He passed away within minutes of arriving at MedVet. We opted for cremation services. We were handled with great and tender care. The cost was extremely reasonable. We could opt for payment today or to wait until we picked up Wilson’s ashes. Thank you, MedVet for being there when our family needed you!

They immediately brought our ailing senior cat into the examining room upon our arrival. We were then escorted to a private room when it became apparent that she would not survive. I appreciate all that they did to make her comfortable. Highly recommend!!

We brought in a happy 15 year-old cat with mammary cancer. At the time we brought her in, our cat was not suffering from the disease. However, the oncologist and surgeon convinced us that we should have surgery for palliative care even though our cat had what they described as "old lady lungs." We reluctantly agreed, wanting the best for our girl. What we got instead was a terrified, butchered cat that died within 4 days of surgery. The treatment was overly aggressive and we were shocked to see the extent of the surgery that was performed. Our sweet girl died a horrible death and we got to pay $5,000 for the privilege of torturing and murdering our cat. I would include photos and a video except it is too horrible for someone to see. The doctors come across as caring but, in fact, they just want another notch on their surgical belt. Stay away - far away if you love your pet.

In this place they don't care about our pets, they only care about the money they can get from us, before any diagnostic and during the treatment those pathetic employees came to talk to you with a bill to sign, if there is no money up front they wont give any service. They will suggest all kind of expensive test or treatments. When you call to MedVet the greeting say something about compassion, what cynicism to use this wonderful feeling to market their services, feeling that they do not apply or practice at all, the baseness as they treat their clients is very far from what is compassion.

In short, we waited almost four hours and paid almost $500 so that they could provided us with absolutely no answers or comfort for our dog. Longer story: Our dog all of the sudden started shaking and panting very badly. Obviously we were concerned so we called MedVet to see if this was something might be an emergency or if we should wait it out to take our dog to her regular vet in the morning. They said "absolutely come in." We rush there only to be put at the low end of priority in triage - waiting almost 2 hours to see a doctor. The doctor ordered panels and tests, and we waited for the results. When the tests came back he said he couldn't see anything irregular except a "slightly elevated" liver count. He then recommended admitting her and having a specialist x-ray her liver. Before agreeing to this, I thankfully asked if poor liver function could have caused the shivering and panting - to which he said that it could but that the symptoms would not have come on suddenly and acutely - which was the case for our dog. I then asked why we were testing for that if that was not the cause of her distress. The Vet then said that he had no idea what was causing her distress and when we said we would rather not admit her, we were done. For that insight and level of care we paid almost $500. Unless you are desperate, save your time and your money!
