I splurged on these $350 shoes so that I'd have comfortable dressy shoes for walking about LA.  These are literally the opposite of comfortable.  After 2 separate days of wearing them and only walking a few miles each time, I had bruising and blisters on the bottoms of my feet both times which lasted for the rest of my vacation.  My feet probably would have done better in anything else... stilettos.  I just stopped by the store to show the owner the awkward ridge in the arch but they denied seeing or feeling it and would not do an exchange.  I stopped by the goodwill afterwards to drop them off.  I definitely don't recommend this place or their shoes.

EXCELLENT customer service! I had never purchased Mehpisto shoes before so I went in there to get more info. The store was quite busy for its size, there were about 5-6 other people in the there and one of the 2 employees, Shawn, greeted us and started helping us immediately. I told him that I was just looking and not ready to buy yet and expected to get blown off or minimal help, it was just the opposite. 

Considering the price, I wanted to be sure the sizing was correct and see the quality and comfort of the shoe firsthand  (I had heard they run big, that was somewhat of an understatement!) I told him I was considering ordering online for the cashback discount and that did not deter his level of service at all. He sized my foot and fitted me in about 5 different pairs in 2 different models. He gave me a lot of great information and things to consider, even if I went with another brand. The amount of attention and time he spent with me was amazing for any visit, but especially considering how full the store was. 

I also asked about returns and if I wear them could I return. He was clear but polite, and I suggested I wear them indoors only - if they had excessive wear on the soles they may not accept for returns - which is pretty standard for shoes in my experience. Also, I too have found that some shoes fit better after a 'break-in'. But in general my experience is if they are uncomfortable when you buy them, they will stay that way. IMO - a shoe with a good fit should be comfortable from day one.  

I had planned on ordering online but after that experience I decided to buy in the store and will continue patronize and support this business.

This place is a travesty.  Let's be clear, Mephisto makes a great shoe and you pay the price, but every once in awhile you want to great shoe, hand-made and built to last.  So I splurged $450 for their new line of men's boots on my brother's advice.  Rugged, water proof, good looking.  We anticipated a break-in period and after a few days he was clearly happy - not me.  My right boot was stinging me on the edge of the tongue.  It feels like it sticks out a little.  I naturally thought - human error, a defect, a one-in-large-number miss.  
I walk in with my box and receipt ready to make my case thinking, Nordstrom is right across the street and we all know Nordstrom wouldn't flinch on a return.  
Not this place.
Rude, condescending, horrible - pointing out that they were worn.  Cold. So "wearing them" voids any claim for return.  Wow.  This place is a shame.  
Steer clear folks.  There's a better shoe store across the street.

We parked to get Starbucks, while our driver was going to go into the store. Our driver took a little longer to get out of the car, and someone from the store came out and yelled at her! We were going to shop there, but this self-righteous chick was too much. Taking our business elsewhere!
