We stayed in a cabin over the 4th for July. It was great. The cabins are clean and it was way better than getting a Hotel room! Everything was clean, and way nicer than I expected. It was nice to have cookware provided. We did some hiking at the park which was great. Our kids loved the trails. Would recommend and hope to visit again.

Bathrooms were a little run-down and in need of a service and fixing landscape was beautiful temperatures were nice didn't see any help or service people that you could tell they were trying to take care of the place nice place to take the family for an outing or a picnic could use a bit more parking

Awesome state park! Trails for every purpose including backpacking or just a simple stroll. Enjoy a weekend camping, floating the Meramec or both. The trails are full of wild edibles. There are some great caves on the property to visit as well. Great fishing spots. Cabins if you care to stay or just spend an afternoon at one of the wonderful picnic shelters.

There a must see cave on the campground. They do walk through flashlight tours. It's the best cave I've ever been in. Check thier website for tour times. Wear a jacket, it's cold in there.

I came here along with at least 500 other people to view the solar eclipse. I was expecting total anarchy but my goodness was I impressed. The Missouri park system had it together! They had a clear gameplan and executed it perfectly. They had plenty of staff on hand and were easily prepared for the massive crowd that descended upon them in such a short amount of time. They even brought in portable bathrooms that didn't smell. I'm looking into vacations to other Missouri parks now, after driving through hundreds of miles of beautiful rivers, mountains, and forests.
