Very nice establishment to celebrate an occasion or just a night of fun! The merchant burger is excellent, but merchant really shines through their cocktail menu. It is easy to stay a long time with friends; we enjoyed a lovely 3 hour dinner. There are many well placed acoustic devices on the wall, which make conversation easy without shouting.

The service was outstanding and the drinks were well made, but the lamb dish was tasteless and the steak frites were rare after I order medium. The lighting was very dim, which was fine for a bar, but it was too dim to see what you were eating. We and several other patrons around us used our cell phone to read the menu and inspect our food. If you're looking for upscale food I would pass on Merchant.

I can only rate the bar, but the cocktails were superb!! I asked for the bartender's surprise, using rye. She can back with a couple if outstanding drinks that I loved! I'll be back... Even if I'm 5 years late!! :)

Merchant has excellent cocktails , decent food and I think turns into a club later in the evening. Also, how many restaurants include their own. Liquor store in the space plus a deli counter? Exactly none that I've ever seen. Dig it.

Expensive but really delicious food! The eucalyptus drink on their drink menu is amazing but $10 for like 4-6 oz of beverage so pretty pricey. The cheese curds are fabulous and are served with ranch and a spicy sauce and both are great!
