Until recently Meridian Hill Park was better known in the community as Malcolm X Park. The park is part of the community and offers a variety of outlets including the opportunity to play soccer, hold picnics, a great place to recreate, some of the local charter schools utilize the spaces Park for recreation. On Sundays drummers percussionists and other musicians gather for drum circles and dance. The drummer's, musicians and dancers congregate from many different cultures including African American, African, Latino, Cuban, just good old-fashioned Jam sessions and fellowship. Sadly the new people moving into Adams Morgan /Colombus Heights appear to be unappreciative of the history and Multicultural aspects that make Meridian Hill Park AKA Malcolm X Park the unique and wonderful part that it is.

Pretty nice area mid city. Great place to run, skate, bike, walk the dog and any other activities. It's good to enjoy some street performers. It's specially good during sunset.

Come clear your head with the views or just people watch. Excellent place to spend a lazy weekend with a nap. On Sunday afternoons during the warmer months you'll want to catch the drum circle. Everyone dances to foot-tapping rhythms from the drums. A wonderful, peaceful, artistic crowd.

Drum circle on Sundays, warm weather, from 2pm to 9pm... If you have whatever instrument bring it and come to the circle... No members fee just free fun. A Lot of people dancing... Yoga all over the place... Hippies everywhere. I bring my drum and drum away.

I love this place. Its an oasis in the middle of Columbia Heights and ADMO off 15th/16th. Green space is always worth a trip in DC, and a great spot to people watch or read a book or catch a drum circle. Dog friendly too!
