Convenient location for tourists. Across the street is a metro station. Two blocks to the west is the White House. On the other side of Franklin Square which is a half a block away from the hotel and under the Washington Post building is 24hr parking for about half the hotel's price. Many homeless black people around Franklin park. Combine this with a trip to Monticello and realize how little progress we have made in 240 years when Thomas Jefferson declared all men are created equal. Also, you realize that this kind of poverty, 2 blocks from the White House three blocks from the Trump Hotel and right next to the Washington Post is an embarrassment to are country as a nation.

Just an urban square where various bus and metro lines converge. Kind of dirty. Lots of rats.

Lovely little park that usually has a great selection of food trucks at lunch time. Downside the the considerable number of homeless that usually occupy the park. You will definitely encounter the smell of human urine and other fluids.
