Probably the best place to get a good view of the White House. Statues of prominent men are worth checking out, otherwise the park looks just like a typical urban park.

It was great. Cant say the park is amazing if but if you are visiting DC it will be a good idea to stop here.

The view of the park and the White House you'll most likely get is one on the other side of hideous black metal gates that the secret service puts up. While I understand the implications of living in a world like today and the security concerns it poses, the park was originally established for the American public to be able to experience the US government and White House. That sentiment is completely gone and the experience leaves you with a weird, frustrated feeling. I'm giving it two stars instead of one as it was a good reminder of the unfortunate state of things.

It's right across the street from the White House. I smoked a joint there with other hippies the night Nixon resigned.

It's a great park for walking through or snapping photos in. I used to eat my lunch here quite often, but the secret service kicks everyone out of the park and tapes it off regularly for who knows what - clearly because it abuts the White House. There's only so many times your lunch can get interrupted by grumpy federal agents before you stop enjoying a park. It could also use more benches in the shady sections. Bottom line, good for tourists, not so great for residents.
