If you are just a passerby, this park is somewhat of an annoyance. There were a bunch of dogs running wild while their owners just stand there. When one ran up to the gate barking, it startled me to be honest.

As far as dog parks go this place is pretty nice. Lots of seating for people, there's a little bit of a hill for dogs to run up and balls to roll down. There is street parking, but it can be tough to get sometimes. The people are mostly friendly. The fences around the park are plenty tall and in good shape, but the streets around the park can be a little busy. So, if a dog is particularly afraid of noise, etc, you may want to go to the park near Walter Pierce Park.

Beware of the park Nazis that feel they run the place... They can be rather annoying...

Love this park, and it attracts a great crowd. There's often poop bags available, a hose/washing station, and a dog water fountain. My only complaint is about the benches around the trees. They have slats, and there was a dog that got his leg caught in one of the slats. Those benches really need to be modified or removed.

Be careful. This dog park can fill up quickly with rambunctious little dogs who spend most of there day indoors, especially during the weekend. i.e. many dog owners use this park as a substitute for professional training and educational classes -- an attempt to socialize their pet in a space a tad too small and with owners who would rather talk to neighbors than pay close attention to their pet. Many use the park as a free but dangerous attempt to correct unwanted social behavior. A dog park is a poor substitute for professional training or doggie day care. Furthermore, a park of this size that does not separate big dogs from the little ones, compounded by owners who know little of dog play behavior, will always lead to human confrontations. If the park is not busy, play away. Avoid when you find 20 + dogs and their oblivious owners confined to this small space.
