They get you in and out as long as you can afford to pay for the car the city stole from you. If not they auction your car and you have no rights to your own property. Once they towed my car from a tire shop which parked it on the streets without my knowledge. My whole career was in the trunk of that car as I am a massage therapist. By the time I knew my car was towed from that business it had already been sold. I lost my business ,my livelihood ,and my transportation to work and college. Many people in Minneapolis especially down town are frequent victims as they are constantly raising rent and building new housing with unaffordable or nonexistent parking spaces. They streets that used to have parking have now banned it in many areas on the public streets. So if you don’t have an extra two hundred dollars to get your car out with an additional 15 dollars a day storage fee your car will be stolen and sold. The car you are paying for or have paid for will belong to the city of Minneapolis! I had a permit and they still gave me a ticket which I had to pay for. The attendant lied and said there was no permit visible. Although I had my permit clearly displayed. Not only is it expensive to live here but you wind up paying thousands extra just because you are a car owner. There is no affordable housing downtown either it’s all geared towards the wealthy. The impoverished are clearly not wanted or welcome. I love Minneapolis but they need to provide free or affordable parking to tax paying residents. It’s like being double and triple taxed if you own a vehicle!

okay. it's the impound lot. you hate it. I hate it. everyone ever hates, hated or will at some point, hate it. it sucks. that being said, at the end of the day, the guys working down here really do make it alot less crummy of an experience. they are usually very quick, respectful and as compassionate as you could expect from this type of place. i don't want to ever go back. but it could be worse.

Pros: Open concept outdoor space. Cool cars. Cons: Extremely high entrance fees, possibly unplanned.

A place of nightmares, where nightmarish experiences are born. But I will say that one of the daytime booth workers was amazing. I dont have a name, but she was wonderfilly kind, understanding, and down to earth, when shown honesty and sincerity. A much needed positive interaction amidst an almost entirely negative experience. But you just might meet some wonderful fellow travelers there, caught up in the same situation as you. Help eachother, for while you are there, it can start to feel like the system vs you. Tips: While there, your audio is being recorded. Inside, outside, and at all times. Enjoy! Get there and get out before 10pm! While they say midnight by phone, answering machine, and website, that applies only to their fees, not hours, so if you're there past 10pm, you might as well be paying the fee for being there past midnight, for that is what they will charge you.

Some clerk's are cool, some are A-holes. As long as you're calm and patient. You'll get in and out quickly. The clerks act like robots. Hopefully no one has to deal with this place.
