Story

Moda Forte Boutique & Salon is a family owned fashion forward boutique and cutting edge hair salon situated in the foothills of the McDowell Mountain Ranch Community in Scottsdale, Arizona. The spirit behind Moda Forte is the energetic Mother/daughter duo of Denise Forte Ghiglia and Nicolle Levrett, two people with a passion for life that’s only rivaled by their talent for creating timeless, unforgettable styles. Denise left corporate America to pursue her dream of owning her own business and following her life-long zest for fashion. This vision included integrating her daughter, Nicolle’s creative and artistic talents as a hair stylist. So was the idea to create a haven for all things chic, eclectic and stunning. Moda Forte Boutique & Salon, a fusion of design and beauty was born by making a Statement in Style.

The boutique brands consist of a wide range of labels including Free People, French Connection, Indah, Maristella Citelli, Sugar Daddy, DL1961, Line & Dot, Black Orchid, Rebecca Michaels and David Kahn along with local artists who create timeless accessory pieces that compliment all of our labels.

The salon is an energetic mix of art and talent combined with our focus on eco friendly products, Prive and Moroccan Oil hair care products. Prive prides itself on being diligent about eco friendly products and is plant friendly in every possible way. Moroccan Oil products are all nutrient enriched and anti-oxidant infused formulas made with highest quality & authentic ingredients.

I love Moda Forte. Everyone there is very sweet and friendly. The clients that I see coming and going at the salon all have beautiful hair. I have had service with a number of the stylists and each one is skilled in one specialty or another. And they all have great hair themselves. As well, in my experience the stylists stay on schedule. I never find that I have to wait, which I appreciate very much. Most of us are on a schedule and have places to be and things to do. So, being on time is nice. Other salon services are offered in addition to hair. Nicole is the best for eyelashes. She does a great job and she is quick.  This is a quality salon with talented stylists and friendly staff.

Amazing work!! Brooke was the best! I went solo for just a trim and brought the whole family back for their cuts. A high class family environment made us feel more than welcome. Brooke listened to exactly what everyone wanted. All three cuts were perfect and we will definitely be coming back for our family haircuts.

I would give 0 stars if that were an option!!!
I had purchased a a groupon for one haircut, style,and full color treatment. I was scheduled to go with my niece who had seen Brooke before. (BTW, she was very sweet).  My niece scheduled the appt. since she had been there before, so I asked her to be sure I was with someone who was very good with color. So the appt. was made and I was told I would be seeing Melissa. Also I want to mention I have mobility issues and my niece was kind enough to make sure we were scheduled at the same time so she could drive us there. 
When we first got there I was told there was no way I was ever scheduled with Melissa in a very argumentative fashion, definitely not intended to make a good impression on potential new customers. 
I ended up with a girl named  Naomi. Before we began I explained I had a groupon and she angrily told me that highlights were not included in the groupon price and it would be a considerable amount of more money for full highlights. She became so angry with me she said she was going to get the supervisor. In the meantime, all the other stylists kind of "ganged up on me about how there was no possible way the groupon could include highlights". A girl named Nicole came in and said it would be $45.00 more, did I want it or not? 
Well, if it had not been for my niece having here appt. with the very sweet Brook, and the fact that I have mobility problems, I really would have left then...not necessarily because it was more money (even though I felt their groupon deal was misleading), but more because of the really incredible anger they all seemed to have. So I agreed to pay the extra money. 
Naomi acted very angry throughout the approx. 3 hours I had to sit through this horrid experience. I even tried being nice to her in the beginning to try and lighten the mood. It was the most uncomfortable, horrid experience I have ever had at a salon, and I am a senior. She maintained this attitude throughout the whole treatment. As a matter of fact, for the first time in my life I decided I would not leave a tip. I hated having to do this as I know these girls get most of there money thru their tips. But there was no way I could tip here when that is based on your happiness with your treatment. I have NEVER been treated so horrible in all my life!!!! The issue for me was how I was treated not the extra $, although that was an added negative.
Obviously, this salon is not using Groupon as a marketing tool to expand their market, as a matter of fact, I don't think they are even interested in expanding their customer database at all! Bottom line, if you want the worst, snotty, mean experience of your life this would be the place to get it, with the exception of Brook.
Sorry for the lengthy review but I felt it was important to relay the entire experience I had.

I am always welcomed with a warm smile when I walk through the door. Denise is the kindest person who makes sure her customers walk out satisfied. I have been coming to Moda Forte for a few years now and do not plan to leave anytime soon. The staff is incredibly friendly and fun!
