Good pizza! However, I'm not a big fan of their cheese...it tastes a little fake? But their service is good and the atmosphere is fun. Also, it's nice that they have a private parking lot. And they serve gluten free crust! But be warned...if there's a long line you'll probably end up waiting outside. You have to wait in between their doorways/in the lobby before you can be seated and the room isn't that large.

Excellent New Haven-style pie. Slightly more blackened and thinner than the other famous city pizza joints, the pies nevertheless stand out for the fresh toppings and bright flavors. The white sauce, clams Casino with peppers and bacon was outstanding.

With all the pizza options in New Haven, this is where locals go for their everyday pizza. Pepperoni & Cherry Pepper is our favorite ( if you're OK with spicy), but all their meats are good. Takeout is the best way to avoid a long wait - however, if you do eat there, they oft get good beer options from NEBCO on tap.

My favorite pizza in New Haven. I lives on Wooster St. for a year, right across from Sally's and would still get my pizza from Modern. If there's a line to get in, wait! There's a lot of seating and people are always leaving. You'll be happy you did.

Born and bred New Yorker and bit of a pizza snob. I've always known of New Haven style pizza but never had the chance to have it until recently. I'm impressed. Had the clams cassino pizza. If you like seafood, you need to try it. It's like linguini and clam sauce but with out the the pasta and put on a fired pizza. Quite tasty. Would love to come back and have it again.
