Across from the historic New Haven Green, ZINC & Kitchen ZINC offer an innovative farm-to-table menu that celebrates our surrounding community. Very disappointing! I had heard very good things about this restaurant so perhaps they just had an off-night, but the food was pretty terrible. We had the duck nachos to start and the tuna and steak for entrees. The nachos had very little duck on them, were sickly sweet, and greasy. The trend of greasy and sweet continued with the entrees. The tuna itself was too sweet but otherwise fine, but the greens that accompanied it were fried and dripping in oil and extremely salty. The steak was tough, too salty and also somehow sweet(?). Just really bad food all around. The best item by far was the free bits of bread to start. At this price point I expect way more, but even if this had been a $20 meal at some hole-in-the-wall I would have left very unhappy. Service was fine.

Zinc continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Connecticut. We were there again last night for a birthday celebration and the first thing that happened was our server, Melanie, brought two glasses of sparkling wine to mark the occasion. By the way, Melanie was super nice and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Our appetizers and main courses were delicious. Beautifully presented and creative too. It was a wonderful dining experience and we look forward to coming back soon!

Fun environment and good food. Seating is limited os make a reservation. Parking can be tricky so give yourself some extra time and feed the meter if you street park.

The menu and food are great. Well prepared, good flavors. Good ambiance---though can get a bit loud to talk--I prefer eating at the bar. I highly recommend this restaurant.
