Morcilla

About

Morcilla brings Spanish cuisine to Pittsburgh. The family-style menu focuses on traditional pintxos and charcuterie.

Story

Award-winning chef Justin Severino brings Spanish cuisine to the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, just blocks from Severino’s Urban Mediterranean restaurant, Cure. Severino’s signature charcuterie program takes on a Spanish accent, and a standing only pintxos bar and family-style menu round out the experience.

We went for our anniversary and it was so amazing. Zack coursed our dinner perfectly and paid great attention to us. He was very knowledgeable and had the skilled bartender make me the perfect cocktails for our evening. The chefs here also do a great job with every single dish; each was dynamic and a great portion to share. We will most definitely come back!

Monday night dining could not have been better! The baby back ribs were the best we have ever had. Each item on the tapas menu was a treat to the palette and the service was prompt, kind, friendly without being too familiar and very professional. All in all this was a 5 star dining experience.

1 review 9/16/2017 The restaurant was packed so my boyfriend and I sat at the bar. We spoke to the bartender who told us the Embutidos was a large enough meal for two people. We ordered that at a hefty 35 dollars and received 4 sausages. To be honest, I would have been fine with it, if there was enough food on the plate, because it was pretty good. But we do feel cheated out of our money and lied to as there was barely enough food for one person. We went to grab fast food after paying the bill... What a shame...

This place has us thorn inside. It is voted best restaurant in Pittsburgh in 2017... nowhere close. The food is quite unique to say the least that my wife and I did not personally like. It is not the it was not cooked right, it just wasn't good at all to our taste. The restaurant ambiance itself is pretty nice. The service is superb without a doubt. The waiting team is courteous and helpful. They just can't do much about the food if you know what it mean. Sadly the best part of the meal was the end coffee. The desserts were not even good to our taste. If I would.be grading the food I would.have give it 1.5 stars at most. If the grading was on service, I would have gave them 5 stars without a question. Since I can't separate them, I have to give them 3 stars. Our bill was $321.00 without tip. I could not get around to leave less than $50 dlls for tip since the waiter did his best and went out of his way to make our meal enjoyable. I did have much higher expectations for this place. Sadly, our experience was not the best in terms of taste.
