We been traveling on I81 in a heavily rainy day and all of the sudden our car hydroplained and hit the side of the road. We barley drove to the closest town which was Morristown to get it fixed, but again the car got worse and not even drivable any more!! Now we stuck in middle of nowhere with 3 kids at 10 pm rainy weather. We decided to walk to the nearest hotel ( since there is no taxi or buses or even Uber service in this little town). After a mile of walk my son spotted a police car and told me let's get his help, and it was very good idea. The police officer responded immediately and towards us for help. He was so gentle and very nice , then another police car showed up with another sweet officer, said dont worry we take to the hotel and help you. We divided 2 people in each police car since we were 4 a father and 3 little kids 10, 6 and 4 years old. Then took us to the first hotel which was no available in it, but they been waiting for us just in case, then they took us to another hotel with available room for all of us ( and really nicer than the first one thank GOD 😊). We checked in and I went outside and thanked them warmly with joy. The police officer name was Cory Harrison #1128, and Robert Jacobs #1080. They really deserve to be thanked and appreciated for their efforts and humanly treatment. Thank you for the head of Morristown police department ( unfortunately I don't know his name) and thank you officer Cory and officer Robert and hope to see you again.

Since I sent my email concerning the excessive speed of travelers on Callaway Drive, I have seen several police cruisers in the area. Unfortunately, there is not a consistent present to have made a significant difference as of yet. Please continue to post cruisers on Callaway Drive and I believe that overtime the speeders will understand that you guys mean business. I am so afraid that a child is going to be ran over if something isn't done thank you

Hello Detective Burchfield, Thank you even again for your follow-up. I did retrieve my phone without any issue. The officers at the Greene County dispatch were most accommodating. I am more than satisfied with the outcome and could not have asked for anything further. Before closing out the case, I was hoping to share something for the record. I would also take particular appreciation for you forwarding this to the appropriate persons whether it be your peers, supervisor, elected county officials or even the Mayor. Granted the recovery of my cell phone was not the most important thing on the planet. I certainly acknowledge there are other priorities which warrant your and the departments time. However, I would be remiss if I did not share what a remarkable professional and unexpected experience I had with the Morristown Police. From the time I entered the building up to the last follow up call I received from you today, I can honestly say I have never seen, heard of or experienced the level of respect, professionalism and genuine care exhibited by everybody I had opportunity to interact with. First, the ladies with whom initially assisted me at the counter were most kind. I took particular note of the fact they took time to listen and assured me I would get some assistance. During my conversation with them Detective, Mike Bacon, who recognized me from the gym, greeted me and naturally inquired what I was doing there. Despite having an immediate agenda to attend to he literally sat down and listened to me share my cause for being there as well as entertained other conversation important to me. After all was said and done he had initiated my police report, endured my unsolicited venting, shared an encouraging word from a personal experience all while exceeding the boundaries of his responsibility simply in order to assist my need. I was overwhelmed with gratitude. Finally, the onset of our handshake, to your patience while I ran outside to retrieve my laptop, followed by your invitation to sit down with you in your office to review the details of my case, all epitomized a commitment to excellence and service. When you reached out to your fellow officers in Greene County to help expedite the return of my phone, you made me feel like the priority. I believed you truly cared about seeing the right thing done. Needless to say within 5 hours of meeting you I had my phone back in my possession, Thank you so very much. I also received something unexpected, more valuable than any cell phone and a most desirable need for countless people across the country. I am referring to the confidence, gratitude and respect for the men and women Police officers charged with our safety, protection and wellbeing. I recognize the recovery of a cell phone and the other multiple incredible demands on Law enforcement are incomparable. There is no secret that relationships between communities and police officers are at minimum strained, if not hostile in many communities across the country. I would be less than honest to even suggest I have identified the cause or remedy for the growing national issue. However, I can state with absolute certainty I appreciate and value the relationship and culture being cultivated in Morristown amongst its citizens and police. I wholeheartedly believe Morristown has two of Americas finest law enforcement personnel in Mike Bacon and Darrin Burchfield. I want to personally thank you for all you do but more importantly, who you are. Your character and the manner in which you treated and cared for me is evidence of the quality and integrity of your character. I salute you both as well as the Morristown Police Department. Respectfully and Gratefully, J D Kyle Leadership, Performance and Purpose with Passion!
